The fee payable at IIT Ropar is subject to change as per the Institute rules.
All SC and ST students will get a 100% tuition fee exemption.
The most economically backward students, whose family income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum, shall get full remission of the tuition fee.
The other economically backward students, whose family income is between Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakhs per annum, shall get a remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.
The SC/ST students whose parental income is less than 4.5 lacs will get a free messing scholarship.

- The night life is good you can get out of hostels even at 4 in the morning .
- Very friendly environment by professors and teaching assistant in the class and tutorials.

- Less availability of food spots.For fruits and clothes you have to go out and buy it.

- Our college has a little underdeveloped campus. Although the buildings that are made are pretty well. But things like indoor court are missing. But it has been said that it will be made available soon

Course Curriculum Overview:
I think where iit lacks is its old curriculum. We are still studying english geography biology while being an engineering student. The teaching methods i think is up to date. While there is a scope of improvement in the curicullum the missing parts are taken care by some professors or by student clubs.

- The clubs. A lot of cultural, sports, literary and tech clubs are present.

- Reachability, location is a bit off, in rural rupnagar
- While there are a few options for food and groceries, i feel we need even more of them

I wanted to pursue cse so chose IIT Ropar as I was getting CSE here as per me JEE rank. The curriculum is industry relevant and helped a lot for further preparations. I cant think of any chamges required in the curriculum as of now. Its good. Exams are kept regularly with difficulty being above average, which is to be expected to maintain the level of courses being taught

- Some professor are very strict and very small room provided to freshers for double sharing

I have Course Computer Science which mainly deal with coding and problem solving . Along with time you willl learn Coding . And you will also learn real world problem solving skill. I think course is very good . The exams are mainly hanled twice a semester which comes with both medium and hard level questions.

Your placement is determined by the skills you have and the hard work you have done in your course. Students who have completed B.Tech in CSE have been offered packages of INR 18 LPA which is the highest for the students of the department and those who have completed their M.Tech in the same have been offered a package of INR 12 LPA, their highest.
