Overall nitj review

The newer course curriculum is relevant more than the previous ones. The one for my batch is not that suitable and it's flawed but the curriculum for my junior batch is designed good. It aligns with new NEP

The internship opportunities are not that great in 3rd year but they are okay for 4th year. Also, consider that only 20 out of 120 students got internship in 3rd year in my branch. The projects are just for the sake of formality

Students become eligible for placements from 4th year i.e 7th sem of the college. The placement percentage is nearly 60-70% and the placements are average for core branches but avg to good for cse branch

Btech fees for gen/obc with income above 5 lakh is 1.25 lakh rs per year as tuition. Plus around 70000:yr for hostel, mess and other charges. One time refundable caution money of 15k is paid in first year. Income between 1-5lakh , fees is 41666rs. And income below 1 lakh - tuition fees is waived off

The campus life is good. It is far from city so the time is spent in the campus mostly. The clubs are good and engaging but some clubs have toxic culture and there are two dance and acting clubs which are always fighting

The new hostels are pretty good. They have all the functionaries. Mess menu are decided by own students. There is no AC in the rooms but lush green campus doesn't make it that hot as compared to surroundings

I applied To PEC - Punjab engineering college. The Nit tag pulled me towards NIT jalandhar and it had good packages during the time of my admission. It had 1.2 cr/yr package that year but it's not true now.

Faculty to student ratio is 1/50. Some of faculties are very good and some are very strict and bad natured. Ashok bagha sir from mechanical is a very good and helping teacher. Mid sem and end sems are there as exams

Night life is not that fascinating in nit jalandhar. Girls in timing is 10 pm so all the students are mostly inside After that. However the food stores are open till 4 am in the morning to provide you late snacks. Also, Snackers have good main course food and nescafe has good burgers and pastas. Night canteen has worst food. Yadav canteen has good parathas, campus cafe has good momos
