  • The gender ratio is poor. Female candidates are too less as compared to males
  • Some professors are not up to the par. They do have knowledge but dont teach so good.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Mechanical engineering interests me so I chose it. Faculty: The student ratio in this course is very poor. There are 120 students for 1 faculty. The faculty are highly qualified. Most professors are graduates or post-graduates from IITs and have PHDs in their respective areas of knowledge. Many professors even publish research papers and books. There are two semesters in a year. Every semester has a mid-sem exam and an end-sem exam. Overall marks for a semester is divided in both these exams. To "pass" in a course is easy. Even if you study in one day for the exam and study high-weightage questions, you will definitely pass.

Internships Opportunities :

You get internship opportunities from college and also you can get internships from LinkedIn. The stipend depends on your field of internship and your level of skill. If you get interned in tech you can get stipend upto 10k.

Placement Experience :

On-campus placement rounds are held in the first semester of your final year. Many companies visit the campus for hiring including Schlumberger, ONGC, etc. According to 2023 placement data, 81.89% of students who applied for on-campus placement got placed. The average package was 16.9 lakh and the median was 13.6 lakh. The highest CTC offered was 55.7 lakh.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Financial assistance is provided if you are from reservation categories only. Also, you will get scholarships if you get excellent scores in the NTSE exam(class 10). Other than that no financial assistance is provided. There are no campus jobs available. But the college does provide some internship opportunities starting from the end of 2nd year.

Campus Life :

The campus life is vibrant. We have four fests. Srijan(cultural fest) in February, Khanan(geo-mining fest) in November, Concetta(Annual tech fest) in October, and Basant(Annual alumni reunion) in February. A lot of fun events are conducted in these fests. Including DJ-Nights, Fashion shows, Dancing and Singing competitions, Robot wars, etc. In classrooms most professors teach through PDFs through projectors. Or use the green-board. Classrooms are non-AC rooms except computer labs. The city is hot in summers so yeah you will have to bear summers a bit. The indoor and outdoor sports activities are available. We have a building for all these activities including badminton, table tennis, squash, gym, karate, yoga, swimming etc. Other outdoor activities like football, cricket, athletics, basketball are all available on the respective fields. You can find clubs for a variety of your interests. And these clubs are student-run and pretty active. You get to learn so much from these communities.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel rooms are very small but you will get adjusted to it. And we currently have double accommodations except 4th year have single occupancy in their rooms. You don't get many facilities in your room, to be honest. Just beds for two people, one table, one wardrobe. That's it. There is no AC. Mess foin-gate is approx 20 minutes.

Admission :

Eligibility for the course is s on the official website of JOSAA. In 2022 16k rank clearing Jee Mains and getting the required cutoff in Jee Advanced. The cutoff depends on the course and your reservation category on them and you can check the previous year's cutoff JEE Advanced was the overall closing rank for the general category. You can only apply to BTech in this college through JOSAA which is a joint counseling for many engineering colleges all over India. So you need to register on the r website and fill in all the required information there online. You have to fill out all available colleges and their branches in order of your preference. You will be allotted the best college available for you. The tuition fee is 1 lakh per semester for the general category. If you are from any reservation category you will get a full tuition fee waiver or 2/3rd tuition fee waiver as per your family income. The admission process is pretty good. It's all online so no chances of fake admissions.

Placement Experience:

As a student of the 4th year program, one can be eligible for placements after 6th sem or by passing 3rd year and after 4th sem/2nd year, students of 3rd year program are eligible for placement processes. almost 150 companies had visited this year and around 500 students are placed in many companies like cognizant, byjus, TCS, Deloitte etc. maximum package offered is 11 LPA and the average package is around 3.5-4 LPA. on a personal note, I want to pursue MTech after BTech, so for me, these placement record somehow not matters but if someone wants to go for higher studies, this college is best suited for them as because it provides all necessary things by which you can easily get into top IIITs.

Placement Experience:

In BIT Sindri, placements are good. In my college students are eligible from 3rd year to sit on-campus placement. They can also go for internships from the first year itself. Around 50+ companies visited in the year 2020. This is a little bit less due to covid 19. Some of the companies that visit regularly are Tata Steel, Vedanta, Aditya Birla group, TCS, TCS digital, Ericsson, etc. Highest package is 13 lakhs p.a being offered by Tata steel and the average package is around 6 lakhs p.a. Here around 50 to 60 percent of students are placed each year. In 2024 I will get my degree. My future plans are that I will give GATE exam. I want to be in under 100 rank so that I could get a job in PSUs or get MTech admission in IITs.
