best college

Remarks :

our college is the best engineering student could get in India but it lacks various infrastructure facilities. hostel rooms are very small for seniors and is not an environment which must be provided to students.it sometimes gets suffocating. apart from it, our college is the best I love it

Entrance Preview :

IItJee-Air 577 rank obtained, Bitsat-369 marks scored, jee mains-273 marks obtained, vit entrance got around 275 ranks. after getting my jee advanced rank around 600, I was confused about which college to choose or which branch to choose but after consulting with many of my friends and seniors who were in iits I finally decided to join Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, due to its good reviews and past track record on placements

Course Curriculum Overview :

The first-year course curriculum includes the advancements and practicals of various topics that we had learned during our 12 class. we also got an introduction to our department introductory courses. in my case, I had 41 credit courses in 1st semester and 35 credit course in 2nd semester. I personally felt that in all the whole year was relatively balanced.

Internships Opportunities :

our college is the best to provide internship, students from our college and from other colleges take part in project under prof. I don't have an idea of the stipend provided but it should not matter much as we get to learn very much under these interns. also, many students get interns in many startups and multinational companies with huge stipends

Placement Experience :

Its placements and future opportunities. generally, the packages grabbed are not publicized but it should be kept in mind that those crores packages which are given so much attention are taken by only 1-2 people generally an average package is grabbed by many students. various multinational companies such as Google Microsoft intel etc approach the institute for campus placements.

College Events :

we celebrate almost all Indian festivals which include Diwali Holi Janmashtami and others. we also conduct Asia's biggest cultural college fest in the name of mood indigo and also the biggest technical college fest as tech-fest. students from entire India come and showcase their talent and also many artists also take part

Fee Structure And Facilities :

there was a hike in prices to double the fees this year onwards which I think is quite high for a middle standard family because the lower family gets away with the tuition fee and the rich could afford it but the left is the common middle family who doesn't come under any slab.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Many scholarships are provided by the government and also various alumni also help the needy students. Mcm(merit cum means) scholarship gives students with family income less than 5 lacks are given a concession on tuition fee of 2 lacks per year. also, an interest-free loan is given under vidhyalaxmi scheme to people with annual income less than 8 lacks

Campus Life :

Talking about the gender ratio in Institute, it's around 75 girls for around 800 boys. I personally feel that what makes IIT Bombay the best is the students here. various student-guided clubs operate here including elec Robo club astronomy club sports council debate club film media and dram clubs also make student show off their personal skills.

Hostel Facilities :

In the fresher year, we were given the new hostels which were equipped with almost all the basic amenities food quality cant be compared to that of what many of us were in a habit of mummy's food, but still, it was decent enough. but senior hostel infrastructure is not good and should be renovated. hostel room size is very very small.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni of iitb are very helpful, from donations to various labs such as Tinkerer lab wadhwani lab, etc they also help present students get opportunities worldwide using their alumni networks. as a fresher I have gained a family away from my home by means of seniors may it be ismp mentors or other helpful seniors.

Exam Structure :

for a full semester course, we have 2 quizzes of 15 marks each and one midsem of 30 marks, and one endsem of 40 marks.in the first year the schedule is not much hectic and was basically chill. we also had physics chem labs and mech workshops and ed labs which frequents once a week.

Admission :

firstly I cleared jee mains decently enough to score 273 then I gave my 12th exam and passed in isc board with 91.4%. then it was the turn for jee advanced. I had prepared for it and tried to give my best and finally get an air of 577. after that the general process of getting admission in IIT began. the Jose portal(joint seat allocation authority ) was opened and students were required to fill in their priority order to get seats in the IIT snits and other engineering colleges.

Faculty :

iit Bombay has many researchers working in their fields who also teach us. there are many good teachers but there are also some teachers who are not fully able to make the students correctly. I don't doubt their ability but still did not match the standards of teaching. apart from that, I feel we also lack some of the sport teaching faculties for newbies in the game, who want to learn the game.

Placement Experience:

On-campus placements are available at this college, but only mass recruitment companies come here, offering salaries between 1.6 LPA to 4.5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, and IBM visit every year. However, the TNP officers are not good at their jobs. Some students who are TNP coordinators receive special opportunities in placements. The IT department has more placements than the CS department, with almost 50% of students getting placed. On the other hand, in the CS department, only 30% of students get placed, and other departments do not have good placement opportunities. The average package is nearly 3 LPA, and the highest package is 7 LPA, offered by TCS. The placement information published on the college website and in the brochure is completely wrong and misleading. Some off-campus placement statistics are included in it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course which I have taken is electronics and telecommunication which is considered to be the toughest course . I took this course as I wanted a balance between my coding journey and also due to my love in electronics . Although the course is easier to understand, there are few courses which are outdated and can be updated with the current situations and scenario. Sometimes I feel that the time given to study for exams is less but again it's on the student and how he / she pays attention.
