BPGC it's magic

Remarks :

It's college. There might be hiccups here and then but the student committee is what bridges the gap between us and the college management.

Entrance Preview :

BITSAT score - 307 Speaking to seniors made me realise the importance of taking up a dual degree from BITS.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course structure is a perfect blend of rigid and flexible. There are core disciplinary courses (Cdc's) which are mandatory and vary from branch toof branch And there are electives(optional courses) on humanities and your core branch Those who do not want to take up PS, can opt for thesis. This is where research comes into the pictureThough we aren't comparable with IISc and other research institutes , the atmosphere is being built to facilitate research. We have our own BITS hyperloop team which is working on the idea by Elon MuskWe also have a Sandbox committee which boasts state of the arts equipments for people to pursue research.

Internships Opportunities :

In college, we have the concept of "Practice Schools" They are conducted by the college itself and are aimed at giving us exposure to the industry and outside world Stipend varies from company to Company.

Placement Experience :

Placement records are only.bettered by the higher its So that isn't a concern. The average salaries and the deviation in them suggest that people can get very low packages or very high packages. Companies like sabre, amazon, flipkart, zs and many more have come for placements And percentage of students placed is very high. The ones who do not bet placed are actually the ones who are research minded and want to pursue higher studies.

College Events :

We have three college fests that we are proud of Waves - our cultural fest (footfall of 40000 every year, over 150.colleges participate, celebrities like shankar mahadevan, priyanka chopra have performed) Quark - annual technical fest (best in the country , Apj abdul kalam , subramanian swamy, rajdeep sardesai and many more have graced us with their presence) Spree - annual sports fest (largest in the country, with over 13 sports)

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It's getting expensive 15% hike in fees every year is an irritating thing But here are options for taking student loans, scholarships and other ways to manage money The hostel and mess charges are however reasonable and worth it This should not be the criteria to reject this college. What it takes from us, it gives back in several ways

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Merit scholarship - top 1 percentile cgpa holders Merit cum need scholarship - those who need financial aid and have a decent overall cgpa Inspire scholarship SBI student loans

Campus Life :

Gender ratio is very poor Very few girls It might be due to reluctance of parents to send theirus daughters to goa Or reasons which I don't know. Student diversity is what makes bits unique. There are people from all.around india. And we learn a lot about different cultures from them There is no discrimination whats ever No one is taunted for being of a minor religion, caste or background.Everyone here is an equal.Though there can be discrimination based on cgpa Which can be annoying sometimes.

Hostel Facilities :

Top class You pay money you get the best of these bRooms are single.occupancy, clean , Mess food is amazing (barring a few days) You get non veg 3 times a week And a different breakfast spread everyday. Much better than what I hear about other colleges All students must stay in hostels. Hostels make life exciting And memories are.made that will.last for a lifetime

Alumni/Alumna :

We have the BITSAA which is the alumni affairs division of our college. There are monthly meetings and discussions with alumnis to better the state of arts Some.alumni s come back as teachers Seniors are very helpfulNo scene of ragging They are always there to guide you initially

Exam Structure :

Exams make life hectic for any engineering aspirant. There are 3 exams in one semester. T1 T2 and Compre It depends on how you perceive things Apart from these 3, lab components and other assignments and quizzes make sure that life in college is never easy However. It is possible to manage time and be effective.

Admission :

The marks are displayed right after you submit the exam. After a month, they ask you to fill preferences And there are 3 tiers of admission I got my seat in the second iteration By June end it was decided that I will be joining this college. The admission procedure takes way longer than other colleges.

Faculty :

Faculty is very knowledgeable The teaching methods differ a mind teachers Some are excellent and can be deemed as the best On a comparative basis, I feel they are all mostly good It also depends on the individual The bits 0% attendance policy is highly misleading. There is scope for improvement

Course Curriculum Overview:

The relevance and comprehensiveness of the curriculum are often evaluated based on factors like practical applications etc. A good curriculum should balance theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing students for the real world.

Placement Experience:

Students can sit for placements in their final year. Many companies visit the campus for hiring drives. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, Rubrik, Uber etc. These are some of the biggest IT names in the industry. There are companies that come for corre recruitment too. The highest and average packages are kept confidential. But if rumours are to be trusted, the highest package domestic is around 80lpa Atlassian whereas the average is around 24L for IT and 17L overall. More than 90% of the batch gets placed usually. I plan to work in the IT industry for a while. After that, I plan to go for Masters's's in Business Administration. It is all a plan for now, nothing is set in stone.

Placement Experience:

Placements are one of the best in the country. There is a good mix of tech and nontech companies coming on campus. The Internship program helps you get immersed in the corporate culture and come out ready for the outer world.

Admission:

A student needs to qualify the entrance exam of CSIR or UGC NET JRF and also a person is having basic qualifications with sufficient training of 2-3 months is necessary. Then one can apply for the application online. I fitted in the first one, so I got selected for the interview round which happens only once in a year. Luckily I cleared that also and got an admission in the institute.

Placement Experience:

The institute gives opportunities for the graduates and post-graduates with internships in which they are allowed to carry out various projects related to oceanography. These internships are really beneficial for us to grow and get well-researched information of our own.

After coming to BITS Pilani, Goa and spending some time over here, I can rarely speak anything bad about this campus. Everyone here is very helpful especially the seniors. The campus is so big and so well maintained that is is the place I am very happy to be at, just to give an example, our Cricket ground is maintained by BCCI, our campus has a tie-up with IEEE, TEDx, Google and any more.
