Remarks :

The admission process is very simple. You have to go through the University site and select the department in which you want to do your Master's. The admission link provided by the University is very easy. You should contact the particular department's authority and also seniors to know more about it. Application fees are like 600 and something. For a master's in Sanskrit, You should have done your Graduation in Sanskrit from a recognized university with at least 55% marks. Here the University conducts an entrance exam, and you have to appear that. The reservation for OBC/MOBC is 20%, 20 seats reserved for SC, and another 20% reserved for ST students. They should have to reduce the application fees. Because some students don't have enough money that's why the application fees should be less than 300.

Course Curriculum Overview :

From my childhood I love the Sanskrit language, therefore It was my aim to Postgraduate in Sanskrit. So I want to do my Master's. And the reason behind admission to Assam University is that it is a Central University of Assam. And at the time of my graduation, my teachers said that the faculty of the Sanskrit department is too Good. There are 35 seats each semester, and 6 teachers in the department. 4 of them were Regular and 2 guest faculties. Therefore the ratio of teacher and students is 6:35. The Qualifications of teachers are very appreciated, The HoD of the department is Prof. Snigdha Das Roy, MA, MPhil, Ph.D., and other faculties were atleast have done Ph.D. degrees from recognized universities. So their teaching methods are too good. They can do their best to teach us. Teachers in our department are like a friend, philosophers, and guides. That's why the students will develop by all rounds. Every semester has 3 term exams and assignments, seminars too.30% of final exams come from these.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total admission fees for 4 semesters are around 20000. You have to give admission fees in the two odd semesters for the whole year. My 1st-semester admission is like 9974. And each semester you have to fill the examination form of 1000 rupees. There are many scholarships at a central University. You are able to apply for all the scholarships provided by the government or UGC and different caste scholarships. There is also a scholarship called the student's aid fund, by this scholarship students' tuition fees are returned by the University with the approval of the HOD of their own department. I have gotten PG rank holder scholarship during my study time. In the 1st year, I have got an amount of 37000 and after renewal, I will also get the same amount.

Campus Life :

In the sports sector. There is 1 playground for cricket football etc. And you will be able to play many other sports like volleyball, Badminton, Athletes, etc. Every year University conducts a versity week where students perform their all kinds of talents. There are also celebrated many fests like Bihu, Holi, Diwali, Vasant Panchami, etc. Many fests were conducted by the University, some of them were Cultural Secretary Night, general secretary night, etc. Students are very excited about these fests. There are many social groups of universities on the platform of Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. The group consists of department-wise, different community students have their own group, NCC groups, NSS groups Etc. Names are like Gamusa, Assamuniversity Forum, etc. These groups are also run by students. They have done many social works like donations to flood victims, blood donation camps, many awareness programs, etc. Through these groups, students develop all kinds of development.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I thought that I will be able to improve my English skills hence I joined this course. We had first hand experience about a lot of things however our course teaches us that lecture method doesn't work well but we were taught through the lecture method only in some classes. Teaching methods need to be more practical, they were fun but they can be improved. Timings for exams were convinient, we were given 4 hours to write our exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum has good balance between practical and theory. Course objectives and outcome of the course are clearly defined to the faculties and students. The syllabus is need-based and well organised. The curriculum is effective in developing professional skills required for the field. There's not sufficient amount of book available in the libraries.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our Course is of CBCS patter which gives SGPA and CGPA. The course and syllabus is made very effectively. The curriculum consists of not only India but outside India too. Such as American Literature, African Literature, Victorian period, post colonialism etc The course oneust ne improve is the translation paper as this has been cancelled due to some inconvenience. But this paper should be included as it is one best and likely subject in English language and literature.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities are not very great but I can say good. Talking about the placement opportunities in cultural studies, I personally think teaching options are the best. You can apply in the university as well for the fellowship. Corporate jobs in this field are in the companies settled over seas like Colgate Palmolive, Delphi Automotive, DRDO, Glaxo Smithkline, Godrej, and Boyce in their HR Department. The highest package went to Rs. 15,00,000 in the general category.
