Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum has good balance between practical and theory. Course objectives and outcome of the course are clearly defined to the faculties and students. The syllabus is need-based and well organised. The curriculum is effective in developing professional skills required for the field. There's not sufficient amount of book available in the libraries.
Internships Opportunities :
Cotton University supports internships with good scope and decent stipend, benefiting students. However, there's no dedicated placement department. Students need to work on their skill independent for job placements, but the university does offer internships and projects to aid in their career development.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The admission fee is around 8-9k. For the second year admission you have to pay 6000. You can also avail the fee waiver scheme by the govt. of assam if your total family income is less than 2.5 lakhs. You can avail different scholarship of state and central govt. You don't have to pay any monthly fees. There are some self- financing courses as well. The fee structure of such courses is around 25-30k.
Campus Life :
We have two big events every year called Cotton Fest and Abege, which a social attraction for many and people specially come here from different backgrounds to participate and showcase their talents. It organizes general freshers for the new comers every year. And the cultural night is one the attraction of the university. The library has a large number of books and articles on different subject areas. Some of the classrooms are well equipped with modern technology such as projectors. There are many student societies and clubs or group such ase cotton university drama society etc which helps in the holistic development of the students.
Admission :
Cotton university is one of the most prestigious educational institution in Assam. It is a pride for the students to get the opportunity to study here. Some of the reasons are, It is the best place to explore the political or cultural fields. The infrastructure is good and the living spaces are well maintained. They provide all the necessary facilities like library, auditorium, laboratories etc. Academics is overall quite decent and the faculty mentors are also very nice and welcoming. The quality of teaching is also good providing that the professors are well experienced individuals. For general line students like B.Sc, BA etc, the placements are not considered as worthy due to lack of professional experiences.
Faculty :
The faculties of the department are quite cooperative with the students. Each academic year consists of 2semester. There's one mid term and one end term examination for each semester. If you fail/miss the final exam you can appear it for next year
