Remarks :

I had written the Joint entrance exam in 2011, my rank was 2062, I had opportunity to select the courses. there were 3 rounds and I was offered the chemical science and technology department at IIT Guwahati.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I was interested in chemistry so that was the major reason for me in selecting the course. Faculty strength was 50 and students included B.tech, m.tech, Ph.D., research scholars combined around 250. The faculty are very experienced and have finished their postdocs as well.

Class Size : 30Course Fees : INR 70000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

During my study, the fees were Rs.70000 per year and hostel expenses would sum up to another Rs.60000 per year. There was no fees hike in between the year. financial assistance was given to the students whose parents' income was lesser than 10lakhs per year.

Campus Life :

We have a technical fest (Techniche), a cultural fest (Alcheringa), an entrepreneurial fest (udgam), sports (Inter - IIT sports meet), Spirit (Northeast annual sports meet), a Dance club, trekking club, a huge library with computers as well.

Hostel Facilities :

We are allotted individual rooms per person. We have indoor as well as outdoor sports facilities. The meals were unlimited and the menu was different every day. The room was spacious with a bed, table, cupboard, and fan.

Hostel Fee : INR 60000 per year

Crisp college experience

Placement Experience:

Placements in this college is quite decent . Students are eligible to sit for placements at the start of 4th year The average placement percentage was 90 percent last year with max package of 52lpa and average of 16lpa (for cs) .Among core branches , the mech department is quite good offers good packages and also have great faculties .

Faculty members are the best part of the college.

Placement Experience:

Almost 60% of students got placed in our course. The highest was 7 LPA, the lowest was 3.5 LPA and the average is around 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Vodafone, Jio etc. Our college provides better placements compared to other private colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've been enthusiastic about exploring more about software and programming which influenced me to choose the course of Computer Science Engineering. With further development of artificial intelligence, it opens up better learning and job opportunities for students. In my university, computer science is taught by experienced teachers and faculty but it would be better if they were more inclusive of certain topics which are extremely important for the students and raising the level of teaching including practical learning and understanding and also examining the student's capability is one of the aspects to be included.
