Remarks :
The reason is simple for its placement record and for its CSE program. As there are only few colleges in India that provides a good curriculum in the CSE program and IIT Guwahati is one of them. Candidate must clear it GATE exam and should have secured a minimum f 60% marks in the concerned stream followed by the Gd and PI round. If you have any sort of work experience then your profile is given extra priority.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum of the college is of international standards and follows the latest industrial norms. The curriculum is designed for students to prepare them for a successful professional career and developing leadership skills to make them globally competent. The curriculum is a blend of theoretical and practical knowledge.
Internships Opportunities :
The student is eligible for an internship program after completing the first year of its program. the college placement committee not only helps us but also guide us about how to approach the companies for the internship program. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Wipro, Infosys, etc visit the campus during the internship program. Around 25+ companies visit the college campus during the internship process. The stipend for the internship ranges from Rs. 25000/- to Rs. 2,25,000/- according to the tenure of the intern.
Placement Experience :
The college has one of the best placement records. the college placement committee is so dedicated that they make sure that every student appearing for placement is placed. They work as a mentor for the students and guide us throughout the placement process. The college has a 100% placement record and all because of the hard work of the college placement committee. The highest package during our batch went up to 95 LPA and the average package was around 50 LPA. One of the best plus points is most of the students receive pre-placement offers. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Chalo, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Groww, Razorpay participated in the college placement drive.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college provides scholarships to its merit students. The scholarship for SC/ST/PWD students is also available. the college also provides financial assistance to underprivileged students from different sections of society. Campus Life :
The campus life of the college is good and fun. The college provides ample opportunity to students for sharing their ideas and working on research work. The students from all parts of India are available on campus which gives us a good opportunity to learn about the different cultures of India. The fests and the events like ALCHERINGA-cultural fest is 2nd largest fest of India, TECHNICHE-techno-management fest, SPIRIT-sports fest are the main attraction points for the students of the campus.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel rooms are single occupancy rooms means that there is only one student in the room. The rooms are big enough and the room is equipped with a bed, study table, and almirah for students. The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. The food of the mess is tasty. during the festive season special menu is served. The hostel management also celebrates festivals like Holi, Diwali, and new year eve. The hostel also provides a 24 hours high-speed WiFi facility. All the basic and necessary amenities are available for students in the hostel. At this price point of Rs 25000/- the facility of the hostel are wort it.
Faculty :
The faculty and student ratio is around 1:8 and the faculty of the college are highly qualified from the top university of India and abroad. The package that we are receiving is all because of the dedication and teaching of the faculty. The faculty are so dedicated to their work that even can approach the faculty any time to clear our doubts and they are ready to help us out. IIT Guwahati was one of the best decisions of my life.
