Remarks :
The admission to NIT Trichy is based on your JEE Main Rank. After qualifying for JEE Main and getting a rank within the cutoff, you are eligible for a seat in NIT Trichy CSE Branch. The admission process happens via JoSAA, or if you are living abroad, then a few seats can be claimed via DASA and CIWG.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty members are all doctorates with immense knowledge in their subjects. They are friendly and help you with any doubts that you might have. The faculty:student ratio is good, every student gets enough attention and all doubts are clarified. The exams were conducted on a regular basis and it is designed according to the students' wishes (which is decided via a class committee). I chose this course because I feel like CSE has a lot of promising scope in the future, and in addition, the placements are higher than any other branches.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship features are really good here, a student is well trained to handle a work scenario by putting them in a good environment that exposes them to the problems and decisions faced in a practical case. Top companies like Google, Facebook, TCS, SAPLABS, Microsoft, Infosys, etc. provide internship opportunities.
Placement Experience :
The placements in this college are very good, with top companies like Facebook, SAPLABS, Microsoft, etc giving good offers from 3LPA to 48LPA, with an average package being 17LPA as of 2020. Almost every student gets placed in this college, but they are also free to pursue higher education after clearing entrance exams for masters.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is no fee hike in recent times. The fees are manageable, around 2 Lakhs per annum at max, and every student is free to avail of scholarships and get it reduced to some extent. The hostel and mess fees are not too high either. Everything is priced as it should be.
Campus Life :
Festember is an annual fest event that happens every September. The books are available at all times, the library is open at all times, you are free to pick any book and refer to information from the vast collection they have here in the library. The sports activities and extracurricular amenities are all very good and we have enough clubs for every hobby and every activity.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facilities are okay. It isn't the best, but given it is a government college, it is much better than I expected. Three people have to share one room and the facilities are good. It gets really hot in summers here in Trichy, so we have enough cool water tanks on every floor. The registration process for a hostel is not that difficult, you just need to fill a few forms and ask consent of the parent, and you'll be allotted a hostel. The mess features are amazing. The food served here is delicious as well as nutritional and it well satisfies a student's dietary needs.
