Remarks :
IIT is a well renowned college of India. It was my dream to study in IIT since the beginning. There are 3 steps involved in the admission procedure for the course. One needs to clear JEE main, JEE advanced and the counselling session to secure the admission into the university. You need to have a good rank in both JEE main and advanced to make a solid impression in the counselling round. Final merit list is decided on the basis of these 3 factors.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Talking about the course curriculum, it clearly reflects the level of IIT. Entire course is divided into 2 parts. Starting with the core curriculum for the first four semesters. In the last four semesters, professional courses are studied. All the professors were PhD holders and experts in their respective fields. During the last years, projects were also included in the curriculum, which helped us in expanding our knowledge.
Internships Opportunities :
You can apply for the internships starting from the 3rd year in B.Tech only. A student must attend the entire recruitment process , to qualify for the selection of the internship. I interned in Microsoft as an System Analyst and I earned a good amount of money as well since it was a paid internship. All-inclusive, I am very happy with my experience at Microsoft.
Placement Experience :
IIT is considered as the "first stop" for all the multi-national companies and other organizations for the purpose of recruitment. 95% of the students got placed in my batch. Overseas placements were also done depending on your capability. Highest CTC went around Rs.62 LPA. This was the highest CTC offered till date in the records of IIT. Top participants of the placement week were Microsoft, Intel Corporation, Amazon, Google, Tata Consultancy, Qualcomm, Goldmann Sachs, Apple Inc. and Flipkart.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The entire cost of studying B.Tech at IIT is around Rs.830000. If you belong from SC/ST/OBC category or your family income is less than Rs.400000 per annum, then, you can apply for the scholarship on the government's website. You have to maintain a minimum of 6 CPI in every semester , if you are applying for the scholarship under SC/ST/OBC category. Detailed information is available on the website for the same.
