GATE, AIR 812, NITH was one of the few colleges providing PG specialisation in Computer Science and Engineering course. The location and infrastructure of the college is just amazing.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The programs and NBA accredited and standard which is followed across all the global technology universities. The curriculum is state of the art and regularly upgraded by a body of Inter-NIT professors and leadership. The course provides you flexible options to select electives based on your area of interest. The specialisations which are re-knowned at the institute are WSN, MANETs, Robotics etc.
Internships Opportunities :
No, the college doesn't provide and internship as such. You can take up any research oriented programs which are funded by AICTE and you become eligible for scholarship grants.
Placement Experience :
The placement record is excellent ranging on average from 85-100 % across different disciplines. Almost all the PSUs visit the campus . IT companies for mass recruitments also visit the campus at the start of placement seasons. Indian Oil, NTPC, NHPC, Power Grid, Samsung, Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Oracle, Zensar are few names.
College Events :
There are various technical , cultural and management festivals which are organised every semester to keep pace with the ever changing technologies and encourage innovation. The events see participation from top NIT and other prestigious institutes of North India like PEC, Thapar, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is reasonable and as per the central government rules and regulations. The hostel fees is around 3000 Rupees a month. The semester fees is about 30000 which is quiet reasonable in view of the Infrastructure and other facilities provided by the institute. The central library has got subscriptions to various journals and magazines which is readily accessible.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The institute offers merit scholarships which are sponsored by the state and the central governments. The post graduate scholarships are funded by AICTE which the an all-India body for technical education in the country.
Hostel Facilities :
We have single, double and triple sharing rooms in hostels. The institute has got around 8-10 spacious hostels in the campus which are sufficient for all the students of the college. The rentals are also very much nominal compared to the market. The room rentals range from 1000 to 2000 rupees a month.
Exam Structure :
The exams were distributed but Lab assignments have to be followed regularly and it becomes hectic sometimes to complete all the assignments and tutorials in time. However, the lab facilities are available round the clock for anyone to stretch and take up the exercises under the guide's supervision.
Admission :
IITs release notifications for post-graduate programs in Engineering (M.Tech) through GATE examinations every year. The examination is held in the month of February. The forms could be obtained at nationalised banks and also at all the IITs. The GATE (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering) is a national level examination for all Post-graduate courses in Engineering which are eligible for grants by AICTE.
