Remarks :

IIT Kanpur has one of the most beautiful campus and amazing campus life. The course is an interdisciplinary course, which gives you freedom and flexibility to do research in the field your choice. There is coursework in the first year only, while the second year is completely dedicated to thesis. There are lot of visiting faculties from various other IITs.

The course is an interdisciplinary course, which gives you freedom and flexibility to do research in the field your choice. There is coursework in the first year only, while the second year is completely dedicated to thesis. There are lot of visiting faculties from various other IITs. All the faculties are scholar with PhD from top universities in India and worldwide. IIT Kanpur has an even grading system (10,8,6,4). The exams were more focused on learning and depends on the professor, how he want to take the exam.

Class Size : 16Course Fees : INR 200000 per year

Placement Experience :

The students get a lot of opportunities for internship and placements. Placements happen in the final year during December-January. A lot of companies register on the placement portal offering lucrative offers. And mostly all students get placed by the end of the placement season.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee is minimum, and the students get MHRD scholarship every month. The semester fee is around 40,000 during admission and then, around 20000 for the next three semesters. There is a separate mess charge on monthly basis. All the establishments within the campus are subsidized.

Campus Life :

The campus life is pretty amazing. There are various clubs like entrepreneurship cell, Photography club, adventure club, music, drama, aeronautics, programming and many more. The campus also has a state of the art Student Activity center (SAC), auditorium, swimming pool, gym and different sports court for badminton, volleyball, squash, tennis, hockey cricket and football. The campus also has multiple food joints including Domino's and CCD. There are 2 main fests- Techkriti (Technical fest) and Antaragani(Cultural fest) that happen through the year. There is also a sport fest- Udghosh.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels are pretty nice and well maintained. Hostel is compulsory for students. There are a total of 12 hostels for boys and 2 for girls. The mess works throughout the year and students are provided with 3 meals a day. The food quality of mess is also pretty good. Each hostel have their individual mess, shops, canteen, gym and amenities hall.

Placement Experience:

There are less but some pretty good opportunities available for the students of M.Des here at IIT. Every year placement percentage is 100. Most of the batch mates opted to go outside India for the job since there are much better opportunities available there. In general, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Tres Vista, Ford, GAIL Limited, IBM, Sapient, Reckitt Benckiser, Indiamart, HDFC Bank, Deloitte, Cognizant Technology Services were the major participants.
