Remarks :

Placements of this college were at par with other Old IITs which helped me choose this college over other colleges. The campus is also beautiful and is spread over 750 acres with all the facilities like cricket ground, gym, swimming, food court and weather is also awesome.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is pretty chill and not much load is given to a person unless he works daily consistently and completes his/her assignment on time. Also the electives offered are updated each semester so that we get to learn new things every semester. Professors are very experienced and have a deep knowledge about their subject. There are around 25-30 faculties in the CSE department which sets the student faculty ratio to around 3:1. Few professors are not that good in terms of teaching although they have very good knowledge and if we ask them doubt they clear it instantly.

Class Size : 67Course Fees : INR 160000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities are very less for MTech CSE student. There are a lot of companies visiting the campus for hiring interns but in most of them MTech CSE is not eligible. Overall max 3-4 students are selected every year for internship in the batch of 67 people.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible for placements in their final year of BTech/MTech. There are around 120 software companies who visit the campus every year for recruitment. These also contain the top product based companies such as google, amazon, microsoft, Oracle etc. The top offers made were Microsoft (4)Oracle (5)Paytm (4)VMware (2)Walmart (2)Goldman Sachs (2)Adobe (1)SAP (2)Intel (4)All the offers were for SDE roleAverage CTC = 24.89LPAAverage Base = 15.06LPA (In hand salary without stocks)Highest CTC = 43.36LPAHighest Base = 32LPALowest CTC = 10LPALowest Base = 9LPAAs seen every year, this year also there was 100% placement for Mtech CSE which continues from the last 4-5 years.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

With Hostel : First sem : 50,000Second, third, fourth semester : 35,000 eachWithout hostel (Online Mode) :First sem : 18,000Second, third, fourth semester : 10,000 eachFor MTech people there is a government scholarship of Rs12,400 per month

Campus Life :

The campus life is the most amazing life at IITG. The scenic view, hill station feel, lakes around your hostel make the campus more beautiful and a better place to live. There are total of 11 lakes in the campus with the campus spreading over 750 acres. It has its own market complex which has a lot of shops and you can buy everything you want. The campus is around 25kms from the airport. There are a lot of clubs to participate in such as dance, drama, aeromodelling, coding club, electronics etc. Annual cultural festival - AlcheringaAnnual technical festival - Techniche

Hostel Facilities :

Every hostel provides single rooms to each student(boy) (don't know about girls hostel) with each room having fast internet access via ethernet cable. The food provided is average and eatable. Most of the students have a heavy breakfast (which has a good menu and is generally good). Every hostel has its own canteen and juice center. It also has indoor games (Table tennis, carrom, pool, foosball) with a small gym, TV room, music room, reading room and a stationary. Overall the hostels are new and have good facilities.

Placement Experience:

The college holds a high placement rate with a significant percentage of Students security jobs before graduation. The college attracts reputed companies e.g. google ,microsoft , bajaj, oracle,barclays , grow ,etc. for campus placement including top multinational corporations and leading firms in various sectors . Total 164 offers were made by 59 companies during last academic year(2022-23). In addition, IIT Guwahati students have already received as many as 214 pre placement offers during the academic year 2023-24. The highest package this year is 2.05 crore per annum. Placement rate is 72%. My plan is to get a good pre placement offers before my graduation .

My college experience

Course Curriculum Overview:

One sessional exam and one semester exam per month reduces the burden on the students. Seminars are compulsory and they carry marks according to our curriculum and that helps us to improve our presentation skills and improve our public speaking skills. The sessional exam is not that hard and you can score well in semester exam if you solve previous years question papers.

After the completion of semester 6 students are eligible to sit for the internships provided by the campus and most of the international companies like google, Microsoft come and visit campus for placements till now the highest packed offered by the companies is around 2.4cr which is quite high and average package goes around 25 lakhs per annum and around 90? students gets placement

I like physics so much that's why I chose this course and the faculty member are very friendly they helped us with every problem .there are 4 faculty members .there qualification is they all have PhD degrees. the teaching method is very good. there are sessional exams before the finals and it's is easy enough to pass if u study the regular class and attend regular classes.
