Entrance Preview :
IIT JEE Advance scored 240 out of 460, This college is the best in India if someone wants to get into deep research. I choose Energy Engineering as it includes knowledge of all branches (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc). And is a trending face of new research. The faculty is also very good and cooperating.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course gives overall knowledge of the whole area related to the course and also gives an idea of the market we would be facing when we pass out. This is a good branch for Research as you can decide what you like and then contact any professor related to it even from different branches also.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are very common here. There are also many foreign internships. The general stipend is not a bit difficult to say but it is enough for a person to spend his time with comfort. But for a good internship, you need good academic performance and thus good CPI.
Placement Experience :
Placement and Job opportunities are pretty good. There are many articles every year on how good the placement was for our college. The exact date is not known by many but they can be extracted from the placement cell of IIT Bombay. It is very good compared to other colleges in India.
College Events :
There are many events in the institute like Mood Indigo, TechFest, PAF, Freshizza, etc. Also, there are many Inter and Intra Hostel GC's held throughout the year. But it is a two-edged sword. If you are very much into all this then it would be very tough to maintain a good CPI, and if you want to do pure research, then just enjoy these events sometimes but stay away.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I have not taken any scholarships, but there are plenty of scholarships for many people. One I know is that there is a 50% discount for OBC's. If you have a good reason and average academic performance then you would easily get a good scholarship. Also, loans are very easily available through Canara Bank upon arrival, they have simple processes especially for us students.
Campus Life :
Campus Life is very much dependent on your way of thinking but overall it is a very good and progressing mindset thought. The gender ratio is a big negative point. The boys to girls ratio are 10:1. Sports facilities are very good, Most of the sports like Basketball, swimming, badminton, volleyball have Olympic level indoor courts.
Alumni/Alumna :
The Alumni network is pretty strong, there are many helpful people who are ready to guide you according to your dream and their expertise and experience. There is a very informal relation with seniors. They are very helpful, no need to worry if you get in trouble, someone had already experienced it already, so you can get the solution easily.
Faculty :
The faculty is very good, especially when we get our own department profs after 1st year, they are very dedicated and try to bring out the best of the students. 1st year had some very useless profs, but maybe because initially there were many branches combined for 1 prof.
