IIT Kanpur

Remarks :

The first step is to qualify for the JEE mains entrance exam and then the JEE ADV entrance exam. then after counselling, you are allotted the college based on your JEE ADV rank and your preference list. The academics at IITK are really very good but it is a bit hard compared to other IITs. IITK has all the facilities available on the campus itself. The placements and alumni here are really strong. The best thing about our college is that we are provided many chances of branch change once after 2nd sem, then after 3rd and after 4th sem also.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I was interested in mathematics as well as computing and had knowledge that this branch offers good placements so I chose it. The faculty: student here is 1:10. All the faculties are highly qualified in their respective fields. There are 4 exams a year, two of which are mid sem exams and the other two end sem exam. Along with these, there are timely quizzes taken. Passing these exams is a bit hard as compared to other colleges especially in my department.

Internships Opportunities :

There are many companies which come for providing internship in our college. As well we can do off campus internships if we want. Normally interns are paid around 50 thousand to 1.5 lakhs per month. Many projects are conducted throughout the four years so the students get skilled enough to get an internship easily.

Placement Experience :

Almost all the big companies visit our college for placements from Google to Microsoft and many more. The highest package offered last year in our college was 1.5Crs. The average package here is 12LPA.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The yearly fees of college are around 2.5 lakhs. The fees are worth it compared to the facilities and education provided. All IITs have around the same fees. There are pretty good chances to get a scholarship at IITK. One of these scholarships is INSPIRE which is based on the CPI you obtain.

Campus Life :

The campus life is very very nice. There are mainly 3 fests in college- 1st UDGHOSH ( annual sports fest ), 2nd TECHKRITI ( annual tech fest it is Asia's best tech fest ) and 3rd the ATARAGINI ( annual cultural fest and is the biggest cultural fest ). The P.K.Kelkar library is the very big library. It has all the course as well as other books available. There are almost all the sports in the college and you can pursue any of them you like. There are many many clubs in our college. There is a club for almost everything that can be thought of and if you didn't find one you are free to open a new society for students with the same interest.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel rooms are ok. There are 2 girls and 8 boys hostels. The meal and menu in IITK are pretty good as compared to other IITs. We are allotted the hostels at the time of admission itself. In the first year, all 1st year boys have to reside in hostel number 13.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teachers try to complete all syllabus but some time they can't. But all the teachers are really very hard working they support students. And they help the students to select the subject independently. And laboratory facilities are also available which help to perform better research.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have an interest towards computer and technology from childhood so I decided to do my further education in this field so firstly i decided to do my graduation in btech but not got good marks in jee mains exam then i decided to do my graduation in bsc with computer application. The curriculum giving their best to prepare us for further academic pursuits and also for real world applications by teaching theory taking their practicals and also taking viva so that a student must contain all the concept studied by them.Their is not much need to improve in the areas of course curriculum but we can say their is a need of little bit more improvement in their teaching methods. The timing of exam is at every 4-6 months of time semester wise and the level of is good enough for a student to pass.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum starts from basics in the 1st year and proceeds to advance in the 3rd year. The topics are taught in depth in the 3rd year. Reading recommended books will provide a better perspective of the course. Question papers were simple in first 2 years but the last year questions were logistics and conceptual. Exams are conducted in mid semesters and end semesters. There are 2 semesters per year. B.Sc here consists of 3 years and 6 semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose statistics and mathematics as my subjects with physics for first 2 years as i want to go in the field of data analyst. Due to Covid there were a lot of chopping and changes in the cirriculum but now it is restored to full potential. With a competative and fair examination.

Admission:

To get admission, I had to make sure I was able to fulfil the eligibility criteria to get admission n the college, I had to then fill up the application form present on the college website, then after submitting the marks, the college would prepare a merit list of the selected students.

Placement Experience:

Many huge, renowned companies offer placements in our campus, but due to the placement opportunities being limited, the students have a high competition among themselves to acquire the placements.
