Remarks :
NIT Warangal is among the top technical institutes in India with good placements, good environment, infrastructure, education, a large campus of 248 acres and many more. Admission in NIT Warangal is done on the basis of entrance exam JEE Mains. You must have a good rank for admission in this college. For our batch, Admission started after the Counseling process in June-July. And our class started in the last week of July. This college has Asia's largest Hostel named ULTRA MEGA HOSTEL. Placement is pretty good as compared to other NITs. Many fun activities Like tech fest are organised 2 times per year namely Technozion and Spring spree.
Course Curriculum Overview :
My branch was Civil Engineering. My main reason to choose this college as we have more Government jobs for civil engineering as compared to other branches. All the professors were very educated, almost everyone was a PhD in their field. Each professor has his specialization. Faculty: student ratio was about 1:40. Their teaching method of most of the professors was good but of some of them was not up to the mark, we will have to take the help of internet. There were 4 exams in one semester, two minors of 10 marks each, one mid-exam of 30 marks and in last, End semester exam of 50 marks. In total, we have to obtain 30 marks and 15 marks in End semester to pass the subjects. The difficulty level depends on the professors because they used to make the exam papers and check them. Overall they were simple exams.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are provided by companies like L&T, Infosys and Wipro. The average stipend was about 30000 per month. And they mostly have to assist the work under main Engineers. Many Consultant companies also visited the campus and they offered many jobs. Coaching institutes for JEE preparation also visited for recruiting teachers.
Placement Experience :
In 3rd year, companies start to visit the campus for internship and many students get pre-placement offers after the internship. In the final year, companies come for recruitment. Almost every student who wants to take the job gets the job if he fulfils the minimum requirements for the job like CGPA. Highest package in Civil branch was about 12 lakhs per annum and the average was about 5 lakhs per annum. Many companies like L&T and many PSUs visited the campus for recruitment. Around 95% of students who wanted to take the placement got placed on the campus. Since my plan was to go for Government jobs, I started preparing for that.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees for one semester was 35000 and hostel fees was around 28000 per semester. For SC/ST Students, there was no tution fee. They will have to pay only 500 per semester. For toppers of the odd semester, under 1000 rank holders of JEE Mains, there was the scholarship of around 1 lakh per year. The placement was very good. Most of the students who want to take the job got placed through campus with average stipend of 5 lakhs per year. Highest was 12 lakhs per year. In other branches like Computer science, Electronics, Electrical, Average stipend was 6-7 lakh per year. Highest was 40 lakhs per year.
Campus Life :
Life on the campus was very nice. We have 2 annual fests namely Technozion and Spring spree, each per semester. They are 3 days fest with full enjoyment. There is a big library on campus, every course books are available but less in quantity. Other weekly, monthly and yearly journals are available. The sports facility is also very nice. There are the big stadium, two tennis courts, basketball courts, badminton courts and one Gym. You can play inter-nit championship in the sport you like. There are many clubs like a literary and debating club, dramatics club, Music club, quiz club, photography club, Nature club, painting club, film club. Wsdc is a website for students run by students, in which we can see our results.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are large and well furnished. There is Asia's largest Hostel named ULTRA MEGA HOSTEL for first-year students, for second-year students, old blocks are there. For third and fourth-year students, MEGA HOSTEL is there. In one room 2-3 students live. In the final year, single rooms are provided. For girls, hostels are different. The mess is also very good compared to other colleges. It has fix menu week wise with two special dinners per month. Hostel and mess are booked online on a first-come, first get basis.
