Remarks

There is no college like LSR. If given a choice, would want to experience it all over again.

Course Curriculum Overview

The mission at LSR is to provide quality education, to nurture academic excellence and critical enquiry and to encourage an engaged sense of responsibility to the larger community. And the course curriculum is equipped for the same. LSR has been consistently ranked among the top colleges in the country in nationwide polls. LSR?s record of excellence and its pre-eminence in the field of higher education has been acknowledged worldwide.

Placement Experience

5

Lady Sri Ram College for Women has had excellent placement and job opportunities with companies like McKenzie, banks, and other differences. The college has especially good opportunities for students of the Commerce Department. INTERNSHIP - Lady Shri Ram College for Women has had excellent internship opportunities with companies like McKenzie. Internship are paid as well as unpaid.

College Events

5

Tarang is the biggest Fest for the college which attracts students from all over DU. Apart from this, LSR is very proactive in all the cultural fests of other colleges and all the extra curricular activities. All the major events are celebrated in LSR.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for LSR is very feasible and being a govt college, its not very expensive. Including the hostel accomodation, it can come to maximum Rs 1lac in 3 years. Students belonging to SC/ST whose parents are not paying Income Tax are exempted from paying Tuition fee and Admission fee. However, they will have to pay the full amount at the time of admission. Refund of the Tuition fee and Admission fee will be given on submission of an application with necessary documents after the reopening of college. They will have to pay the other charges.

Fees and Financial Aid

You would not want to take education loan for it, as the fees is nominal, approx 5000 a year. But depends on the course you take.

Campus Life

LSR is an all girls college, which is known for its rich extra curriculars. Be it theatre, dance, music, sports, the representation of this college pan India is remarkable. Today, LSR has evolved into a gateway to excellence. It not only proves itself in academics but also in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. A look at the many university rank holders across departments as well as the number of awards won at national and international sports and cultural competitions, the numerous distinguished visitors as well as the multitude of societies that college is buzzing with bears testimony to the rich tapestry that characterises LSR.

Hostel Facilities

Yes I opted for hostel which has a very limited accomodation, but I was lucky enough to get it. In the first 2 years, its twin sharing, with decent food services and accomodation and in the third year, its a single room. There are PGs in the college vicinity, but are expensive. the expense can go upto Rs 20k a month.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is strong, and you can seek all the help you want from them. And u can never graduate from this college. You are always connected.

Admission

LSR is one of the finest colleges in arts and takes admission purely on merit-12th boards percentage. The Cut off for my course-statistics Hons at that time was 94%, so got though it. The cut off varies for different courses, but average is cut off is 95%.

Faculty

5

Teachers at LSR seek to instill in students a zest for learning. The capacity for original thought and the ability to see things from multiple perspectives are fostered. The bond that students and faculty members share is one of the greatest assets of the college. Discussions and activities within and outside the classroom are dynamic, dyadic, dialogic and collaborative. The emphasis is on a liberating pedagogy that can shatter myths, rescue imagination, develop critical thinking and initiate change.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since it is open learning university..they couldn't give us time.. because the class also got started 1 month before exam...and teachers had to finish...the syllabus. But they don't really care about us. And syllabus I think is okay .. in Commerce. It is updated.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

There was no such provision of jobs or fixed placements however there was a placement cell which was quite active and hence there were opportunities for placements by contacting the cell and placement fairs were also organised that were open for all, but not many opportunities were given. The companies that took candidates were economic times, TOI etc paying a very basic fresher stipend of 10-15k. Very few students actually got to know about these placement drives hence the placements weren't great also not many companies came on campus.
