Course Curriculum Overview

5

From emotional experience to biological behaviour our course has it all. So therefore it's my advice as well that for those who want to study Psychology that DU is best and LSR being the best is definitely the best. Course toughness is definitely moderate than others but vastness is very high as we have more subjects than the others.

Internships Opportunities

5

Apollo Hospital and likewise many health institution and others provide us internships through college internships cell. Psychology studies is incomplete of internships are not done and therefore it has been mandatory for us to do that.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am Sakshi and I am studying in second year at LSR. My course is BA Psychology Hons and fees is mere 20k and that inclusive of i card and library fees. Course fees or tuition fees is 16500 and rest charges makes it to 20 thousand a year which is feel is quite petty for a college like LSR which is best in the country.

Campus Life

5

Our annual fest of LSR is Tarang but for Psychology department a fest or an event where mental health issues are addressed is one of the biggest events of college. Reach which is associated with social causes is also one of the biggest societies of our college. Coming to infrastructure it is indeed the best in DU.

Admission

For Psychology at DU, LSR is the best and with 98.2 percentile, I easily secured admissions at LSR. Earlier the cut-off was based on 12th results but now it's boil down to CUET score and without clearing that cut-off no one can get admission in LSR or any college of DU.

Faculty

5

Psychology means mentoring and playing with minds. Our faculties does the same in class and that is how we are taught. So their tutorials and fun quotient that they bring in the class is what I will admire of them. Mrs Prajakta who is our leading faculty is also my favourite as she has taught us the biggest life lesson to me and that is to never carry a long face.

Night Life

5

Lajpat Nagar is close to our college and we have some of the best night pubs, cafes and coffee shops here. Nothing before Coffee is one of the most visited coffee shop and i also go there with my friends almost every week.

Placement Experience:

Honestly, placement depends upon your skill. Even 1st year student do sit for placement and if your skill matches the vacancy, you are placed. As such there is no criterion for sitting for placement and no barriers of year you belong to.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always had a keen interest in history, so I also wanted to pursue it in my graduation and I was able to do it. the curriculum covers vast amount of topics as we have 3 core papers per semester, which then increases to 4 in the 3rd year. there are papers covering indian history, European history and a particular country per semester- like,USA, china, japan, etc. an option for gender studies paper is also given in the 3rd year. i liked the course dynamic and therefore felt it would be interesting for me to study. for my future pursuits I feel the course covers a great deal of topics and helps me understand better as we also study a lot of historians and scholars apart from the just historical facts. But there are always improvements which I feel can be taken up, like including more practical and immersive teaching methods as just reading about history often make the course dull and uninteresting, though the professors keep providing us with valuable insights and material to study from. One has internals throughout the semester, which becomes even more hectic during the last month before the end sems as a lot of deadlines comes up, but if possible one should aim to do their internals as soon as one can and not delay as it helps prevent multiple deadlines before the exams. the difficulty levels vary from exams to exams in the internals; some assignments are more research-based based and professors expect you to do them on very academic level using research papers and official websites, unlike school, so it requires a good amount of reading and research.

Placements are not very good as the college has a separate placement cell, but somehow it is not as good as others Delhi University colleges. Very minimal companies offer some job and placement opportunites.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I am interested to know about are culture, history and etc. As per my opinion, desirable ratio is 1:10 and minimum is 1:15 deficiency in case of ratio higher than 1:15. The proposed assessment is based on variation in ratio from 1:10 to 1:20 with maximum to proportional marks respectively. I suggest focusing on what is important and that is student achievement. It doesn't really matter who it is done as long as the students learn the material. I would suggest setting up course learning objectives and then assess how well the students learned the material. Exam had unclear or ambiguous questions or instructions. Exam required knowledge and skills that students did not have sufficient opportunity to practice. Students blame the instructor for their poor performance.
