Abhishek Singh's Review On Indian Institute Of Mass Communication - [IIMC], New Delhi

Remarks :

#NAME?

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course Curriculum â?? IIMC revises its syllabus every year, hence the course was quite updated and rewarding.Industrial Exposure â?? Not so much, for a course which is strictly practical and practicable, we were not given enough avenues to polish and rehearse our skills or knowledge.Faculties â?? A mixed bag really, guest lectures by the people from the industry were incredibly good, however in-house faculty lacked the usual zing and intention of teaching.Good Faculties - Samir Kapur (Founder, Ad Factors) and Parveen Ahluwalia (Director, Market Pulse)

Placement Experience :

Unfortunately, the session was put on an indefinite hold before the start of this yearâ??s placement process. Although, AD Factors and JWT are some of the revisiting organizations that hire from different departments of IIMS in â??bulk after the end of every academic year.

College Events :

Campus life was immensely fulfilling, we never had any big events or cultural festivals. However, the college was equipped with a mighty, IMAX screen-like auditorium hall that catered to the entire campus during the time of any industrial conferences.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The institution offered a couple of good scholarships, 1. A scholarship for the economically challenged students which offered a 25% discount on the total fee amount2. A scholarship that rewarded the hard work of the academic achievers

Campus Life :

For a government institution, the campus was unbelievably clean.- The library was loaded with different kinds of insightful reading material from the whole spectrum of the media and communication industry.- Wi-Fi service was quite dependable and rapid. - Overall, the campus was an 8 on 10, the canteen and hostel facilities could have been better. However, the IIMC campus has a serene and simplistic aura that proffers an irresistible charm.

Hostel Facilities :

The campus did not have enough hostel rooms for the boys. Hence, the students from Delhi and NCR were not allowed access to the hostel facility. However, the rent structure of the hostel was quite affordable and the administration did not impose any martial restrictions on the late-night movement of the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is inefficient and ineffective in building real lawyers. Simply mugging up case laws is not enough to be a lawyer. There's a serious need for du to fix its curriculum and examination tactics. They should really reconsider this.

Every student here gets a chance to intern with top law firm and then either get to work with them or corporate houses like Aditya Birla Group, Johnson & Johnson and HUL among others are the private players who sign us with an average annual package of 8.25 lakhs.

Lsr highest package is 44-45 LPA and it's average package is 11 LPA. Although there's not 100 percent placement but only lsr tag can also offer many opportunity in other fields or work. One can go for business or for professional course like CA, CS, etc or competition exams.

From 10th semester students start getting placement offers.. I din not recall some company names.. but they are not big names they are just normal law firms. Highest package one can get is 4 LPA. Very less students go for placement. My plan after degree is to study for judiciary exam.
