Remarks :

The NIT RKL is great college for engineering student. And I liked it very much.

Entrance Preview :

I have appeared in the GATE 2014 exam and I got AIR 3186. My marks in this was 56 out of 100. I opt this college due to its glorious work in research field. The Mechanical department is best here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

That is great upto international level. I have studied various course subject during my first year and second year is reserved only for the research work that is very much innovative.

Internships Opportunities :

Google, Microsoft, IBM, TCS, HP INDIA, HERO, TATA MOTORS, TATA STEEL, AIRTEL, 3DSPLM, GURUDATTA LEARNING CENTER, RESONANCE, INFOSYS, MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA, TECH MAHINDRA, SAP LAB, etc. Avg Stipend 20000

Placement Experience :

Placement is great because about every student is placed till the completion of degree. A lot of student will be able to get more the one job from the campus placement. So, the placement is about more than 90%.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is feasibleIt is about 45000 per semester for the B.tech and it is about 49000 for the M. tech student. there is also less fee for the reserved class student.Mess fee is not included in the above.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There is a bank in the campus named SBI that is ready any time to give the loan to any student.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel in the NIT ROURKELA is great. it has 10 block for hostel and all are neat and clean. Final year student only got single room but in the beginning two bed room allotted.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Ya, I have a lot of interaction with my seniors and alumni. college always organize such alumni meet in the campus in the winter for national and international alumni.

Exam Structure :

Mainly two exam1 MID SEM2 END SEMThe mid semester exam is of 30 marks and End semester exam is of 50 marks. Both exam are very-very important And there is 20 marks for teacher assessment that is only given by faculty depending upon their class performance, behaviour, social, attendance etc

Faculty :

Every faculty of my college is great and have minimum Ph.D qualification. Every one has a lot of experienced of doing great research in their field.All are very supporting towards student.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to appear in campus placement drive after the 5th semester in B.tech courses while after the second semester in m.tech courses. I got the placement in IGATE solution with a package of 3.75 during M.Tech in 2010.

Mtech at VSSUT, Burla

Remarks:

Based on my Gate score, I opted this college. Since my requirement was a core branch and my future objective was to pursue a PhD so I went for this college where we had the flexibility to work on our domain with regular stipend from AICTE for Gate qualified students.

Admission:

No we were selected on th basis of our Gate score and academic credentials. Someone who doesn't have a valid Gate score could get admission without stipend provided that they have a sound academic career.

Placement Experience:

The average placement here is decent but the highest package always amazes us. This time it was 21 LPA which is pretty good. Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th semester. Talking about the companies, you won't get to see companies like Google and Microsoft but companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant and Capgemini do visit the campus and offer pretty good packages.

A completely different world with every bit of spice in it.

Remarks:

As a pass out, all I can say is my 4 year in my UG college was nothing compared to my 2 year stay in NIT Rourkela. I made memories I will never forget, made friends for life, learnt from these genius professors and passed those goddamn exams! If you ask me to give ratings to this college, I will give 10 stars for the memories. Academics was strict as hell, we get lesser time for fun. But that made those fun times, precious.

The central library isn't have so much books it contains the old and these books aren't enough as compared to no of students. But the digital library is superb. 8am- 8pm open with high speed internet.
