Life @ IIIT - Hyderbad

Remarks :

Absolutely, there'll be no bad remarks about this esteemed institute. Regarding Good, you need to experience yourself. So crack the exam and get a seat here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I did my Masters in Computer Aided Structural engineering in EERC(Earthquake Engineering Research Centre) Dept. This course is a combination of Computers and Structures. You will get a chance to learn Programming and Structural Designs at a time. This will give you a chance to start on a better platform.

Placement Experience :

Placements are good in the institute. But when packages of postgraduates from this course compared to the Undergraduates and Computer Science Postgraduates they are below par.

College Events :

Felicity is the annual fest of the institute. They are celebrated in a high manner. Top Musical Bands and DJs elate the show. Top Standup Comedians grace the event. It's a 3 days event in which the institute is illuminated with beautiful lights and colourful events all around the institute.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is a bit expensive. I have been charged 1. 25lakhs per semester in 2018-2020. Well, It includes access to many labs and libraries(one of the best in this segment). The fee includes seminars and webinars going on in the institute. These will give you insights into the advancements in your field happening around the world.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I applied for a Student loan. There will State Bank of India inside the campus which will provide loans with lesser interest rates compared to the market. I cracked the GATE exam in Civil Engineering which offers me a scholarship monthly by HMRD India.

Campus Life :

Campus life is the best part of the whole course. You will get a new family of friends since you stay in hostels. Extra-Curricular Activities will happen on and off campus which includes Musical Nights, Flash Mobs, etc. Annual Sports Events are conducted. Inter-department, Inter-house games are conducted regularly.

Alumni/Alumna :

There is a website for Alumnus where you can reach any alumni of any department irrespective of their relieving year. This helps you have a better connect with the people even after their course completion.

Admission :

Firstly U need to write an entrance exam named IIITH-PGEE for PG courses. The exam will be in two parts. One for Aptitude and Programming and the other for Technical. U must clear both the parts. Then if you are shortlisted for an interview and clear the interview. You will get selected.

Faculty :

The faculty is very much experienced in this Department. You will have 24 classes for each course. The course gives you a detailed insight into all topics of the course. It covers both research aspects and industrial aspects. Our Department is well balanced with people with many years of Research experience and Industrial Experience.

Placement Experience:

This is the most good part of this college. Placements are very good here for the CSE and other Circuital branches Placement are very good. Coming to the core branches they are a bit tough like everywhere else I'm from M.tech Environmental Engineering (civil department) Our batch strength is 28 . I'm writing this review on 22nd March, my senior batch (22-24) they also have same strength i.e 28. Out of 28 , 18 have been placed till date with av package of around 6.5 lpa which is a normal package which you can even expect from some good IITs (I'm not talking about bombay, Madras, kgp, Roorkee) . So Placements are really nice here and you will be exposed to various opportunities for your career growth irrespective of your branch. There are also various workshops and clubs which support entrepreneurship.

Placement Experience:

Mostly from 2nd semester of first year, internship opportunities start. Placement opportunities start during 2yr sem 1. Highest package is 28LPA and least is 3LPA Novartis, biocon, genpact , Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Sun Pharma, Aurobindo etc are few companies that provide placement opportunities. Most of the students get placed via campus placements. I decided to sit in placements and secure a job

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am interested in master, i want to gain extra knowledge about computer science. Faculty is sufficient, faculty students ratio is good. Some faculty is not good, I don't want to mention the name here but they are really worst. I can't think that why iiit keep professors like this.

Placement Experience:

Because IIIT Hyderabad is one of the high colleges in India, the college's placements are also up to par. During our batch, the college's highest placement offer was around 45 LPA, and the average wage offer was around 18 LPA. The college's regular recruiters include Amazon, Adobe, Google, Facebook, Jio, Samsung, Code Nation, Uber, Qualcomm, and TCS. Several of my classmates were also offered pre-placement opportunities during the internship programme.

Remarks:

It is a good course. Yet, Teaching staff could be better with more specialized trending research faculty and Placement department could be better with person from management background heading it.

Entrance Preview:

PGEE is the exam which is require to crack for initial filtering after that some candidates get selected and call for personal interview and this is the final hurdle to get entrance in IIIT.

Placement Experience:

Placement is awesome in our college. All the students got placed and average package is around 12 LPA. There are lot of companies I can't list all but just listing giant one Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Indeed, Uber, Amazon, Walmart. All did offer varying but in range between 20-50 LPA Note that the all figure in INR.
