Remarks :
It is a good college. It is most certainly not everyone's first choice anyone would be lucky if manage to get here. But, students have to work on themselves to improve their employability apart from the curriculum. This, the institute also supports and gives a platform if someone wants to do something in arts (singing, dancing, photography, etc) or entrepreneurship. Infrastructure is good but not sufficient, there is a shortage of seats in the hostel.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Exam: 2 CTS and one final exam per semester. All exams, question papers, and evaluations are done by the faculty within the institute. And students are allowed to check their responses and marks before the final results (so no reevaluation). Research: Students are motivated and facilitated for research projects, but depends on student's caliber and interest. Industrial visit: Planned by faculties according to student interest. Industrial training is part of the curriculum. Placement: Not Excellent but Good. Good companies visit the campus, mostly in the IT sector but they allow core branches to apply too. High-caliber students also manage to score high package off-campus jobs.
Placement Experience :
Placements are unpredictable and change every year. Many high-profile companies visit the campus in core and IT but mostly in the IT sector. Amazon, Infosys, hero motor, L&T, reliance group, 3dplm, and many many more. The package offer starts from 3 LPA and can reach up to 20 to 30 LPA. Average being 6 LPA. Many students go for GATE, GRE, CAT Gov exams, research, and higher studies for their future and hence are not part of the placement. TPO: does everything possible to score the best placement. Conduct targeted training and mock exams to improve selections. Institute has a complete Computer center, conference room and other facilities necessary to conduct placements.
College Events :
Students body organizes a lot of small and major events of all genres, i.e. AAVARTAN (tech fest), ECLECTIKA (cult feast), ESUMMITE (entrepreneurship), SHRUTI(musical), TED(educational), SAURYA(sports), etc spread throughout the year. There are a lot of clubs and committees for each genre who works according to there interest.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
There is complete transparency in fee- breakdown. And fee structure is different for GEN, OBC, ST/SC, females and is available on the institute website. Many students also take the various scholarship benefits. A separate fee for a hostel is applicable. Payment is accepted at the beginning of each semester through online mode only.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Many students have the benefits of scholarship but most of them are cast or gender-based and the institute has nothing to do with it. Some bright students secure scholarships on a merit basis. I am not aware of any scholarship provided by the institute.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio: Clearly the ratio is high. Maybe because girls didn't manage to clear the entrance in equal no. Some branches like CSE IT have a very neutral ratio, but some branches like ME and MIN really have girls because of branch profile. Student activities: there are a lot of events according to student interest many of them are celebrated in party style. Some informal events like freshers and Farewell are also organized by individual branches. There are a lot of clubs and committees for students to join. Politics: institute and its student doesn't participate in political events. Divercity: It's a central institute and recieves students from almost every state of india. But student body is diversified as North and South indian. But harmony is very good. Lifestyle: Students are often engaged in parties and hangouts and other social activities. GF and BF culture is also very common.
Hostel Facilities :
There are separate hostels for 1st year and for the rest of the years, to avoid ragging. In the main hostel, a room is shared between 3 students. The room size is sufficient. Wifi is available at the mess. Bathrooms are also huge and common among the students. Badminton and TT are available in the hostel. Outsiders are not allowed in the hostel. Seats in hostels are not sufficient and are allocated on a cast and performance basis. Therefore many students have to go for PG outside the campus. Kota, DDU Nagar, and Saraswati Nagar are the nearby locations where PGs are available.
Alumni/Alumna :
The Alumni network is good, and they often provide their support by sharing possible details about their companies to benefit placements.
Admission :
Eligibility: 12th in PCM, JEE score/rank card. Seat allocation: through JoSSA in 6 rounds, depends on rank, cast, stated from where 12th is done, the desired branch. The procedure is simple completely online, according to JoSSA guidelines, except for document verification.
Faculty :
Lectures: Sufficient no. of lectures are allocated but fall short because of vacations and mass bunks. But, students rely on self-study for academic. Faculty: Faculties are vary qualified, most of them are Ph.D. from reputed institutes like IITs and NITs also have many research papers in their name. But, their teaching quality may vary according to the subject, topic, teacher, method, skills, and students' ability to perceive. Relevance: Syllabus is vast so many might not find most of it relevant to the industrial exposure they get. It depends on branch, subject and industrial context.
