Remarks :

It was the best years of my life.It was really an escape from the reality.Everything ba out IIT kgp is a dream.I was very fortunate to part of it.It will always be a cherished dream of my life all the time.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course structure is really good.There are two exams in the year.Mid sem and Final sem.Also internal marks are added to calculate the final GPA.Mid sem, Final sem and internal marks 30, 50 and 20 respectivel

Placement Experience :

As we all know IIT kharagpur us one of best colleges for placement.However its a little bad compared to B.Tech courses.Lots of companies don't allow M.Tech students.The placement season starts from Dec 1.The written test generally held before the interview day at night and if selected you need to appear in the interview process next day.Amazon google flipkart Exl delloiete Cognizant all these among other companies came to campus.There are no internship at M.Tech level.However internships are there at B.Tech level.Though I am not sure about the remuneration

College Events :

We celebarate on various occasions.The spring feat is the cultural fest held every year and also daksh the tech fest.We celebrate diwali in a completely cracker free way.As we call it illumination. All the lights are switched off and diyas are lighted. Its a beautiful scenario

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure was 30000 per semester which includes hostel fee education fee library fee internet charges mess charges.earlier there was stipend at our time but not anymore from this year.Also fee structure hiked which is to be decided

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are several scholarship for meritorious and financillay poor students.Loans are readily available.SBI has a branch inside the college which provides loan easily.There are several MoUs signed with other universities as well which students can avail.

Campus Life :

IIT kharagpur has excellent facilities for sports.We have swimming pool, basketball court, chess club, cricket, football grounds.table tennis and badminton courts.Coaches are also there.Everybody can avail these facilites

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is mandatory.per semester 11000 rupees are charged which is included in the semester fee.All these are need to paid advance before the semester starts.However in special cases permission can be obtained by authority to stay outside of campus.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni networks are really strong.we have whatsapp group among ourselves which are really helpful.Alumni meets are held by college every year.I am proud to be a alumnus of IIT kharagpur.The MBA building is complete by Vinod Gupta which is alumnus of IIT kgp.

Admission :

I have appeared for the GATE examination.I got a rank of 381 after obtaining 616 in the process.After that I applied in IIT Kharagpur as per the advertisement in their website.I got selected in the 2nd list

Faculty :

Excellent. It was two best years of my life.I can again back there at any point of time.Faculties are top notch.The course is such that you will be prepared for anything in life.They are also really helpful whether you want to go for phd or placement.

Life of an M.tech student in IIEST

For placement the college cell will ask you to register in Superset website. From your superset account you can apply for job and internships in different comapnies. there are more than 20 companies visited for placement this year. arround 80 percent students from my department were placed last year.

Placement Experience:

For master's, campus placement is less compared to bachelor's courses, Company visited less in numbers, but still, 30 - 40 percent of students get placed, some went for Ph.D. in IIT, and some got placed off campus. On-campus placement average package is around 4 lacs.

Remarks:

Before joining Mtech in Computer Science and Data Processing (Mathematics department) in IIT Kharagpur I completed M.Sc in Mathematics from IIT Madras. At that time wanted to go for industry jobs so I decided to pursue M.Tech course related to computer science. Specifically, I am interested in Machine learning and statistical data analysis. That time I had two options either IIT Madras (Mtech in Industrial mathematics and scientific computing) or IIT Kharagpur (Mtech in CSDP). I preferred IIT Kgp and joined it.

Entrance Preview:

I take WBJEE entrance exam for entrance in BE and gate for ME. I score 107 in WBJEE and 2047 in GATE . Jadavpur university(ju)is best institution in west bengal.

Placement Experience:

In JU placements was almost 100% in BE course on my electronics & telecom department 55 were placed out of 58. And some of them got 3 jobs in hand,some of them got 2 jobs.and in ME 17 are placed out of 23.companies are tcs, cts, ibm, infosys, ericsson, adobe, ibm r&d, wipro, capgemini etc.
