- Campus infrastructure was old and weary also there is a graveyard inside the campus thats scary.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I opted for an interdiciplinary course and involvs various practical lab as well. In the second year we need to prepare any projects that solves real life problem. Projects options is given by the supervisor you get, supervisors are alloted by the college based on your GATE score. Exams are same as in your graduations Major and 2 Minors along with Viva. At the second year you need to give presentation on the project, the improvements and everything to write in your thesis.
Internships Opportunities :
Various companies along with pre placement offer kind of internships was enlisted in superste website. Some companies that i kniow from by branch were Texas Intrumentation, Tata power, Tata steel, Jindal steel, L and T an many others.
Placement Experience :
For placement the college cell will ask you to register in Superset website. From your superset account you can apply for job and internships in different comapnies. there are more than 20 companies visited for placement this year. arround 80 percent students from my department were placed last year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee structure involves tution fee of 28500 and hostel accomodation 37000 per semester. Complete cost of my education in two years including the fees at the time of addmission was approx 2 lakhs (I attended online class for the first year due to corona so no hostel fees for 1 year). There is no campus employement opportunity. You can apply to the internship if your guide is convencied, if he is not than you can't apply. The scolarship that i got was only from MHRD which is through GATE.
Campus Life :
There was a lot of cultural fest organized throughout the year along with sports tounaments held hostel wise. Departments organises fests as well and one annual college fest technical plus cultural fest named REBECA is also organised. Library can be accessed with library card you need to seprately register for that from library. IEEE explore can be accessed using you G-suite ID provided by college. There were many groups and clubs for students maintained by other students.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel accomadation is fair not upto the mark hostel rooms are fine with lift facility, food is not great specially in Lt. williams girsl hostel. Other hostels like Pandya have good food but there rooms are not fine also they doesn't provide lift facility. Hostels rooms doen't have AC facility and is provided with only Fan in room. Wardens may ask 2 -3 students to accomodate one room. Outside the campus you can find decent flats or rooms on rent within 2 km radius. Hostel facility and registration can be done using HMS portal of the college, you should register using you G-suite ID and all the fees of the college is paid through this portal only.
Admission :
Admission process involved GATE score after that we need to apply on COAPS and CCMT. COAPS website provides application in various IITs and CCMT provides admission in various NITs. Eligibilty for applying in various courses involves GATE score, the higher the GATE score the greater prestiguos college with better branch you will get. Application can also be done with reservations with lesser GATE score. You can check the college lists with GATE score of previous years from the same CCMT website.
