Remarks :

According to the KTU scheme, the entire BTech course is divided into 8 semesters, which is completed in 4 years. Every semester has 2 internal examinations followed by an end semester examination conducted by the University.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The college comes under the affiliation of APJAKTU and we strictly follow the KTU guidelines. The syllabus is as mentioned by the KTU which conducts the University exams after every semester. The KTU curriculum is followed by almost all the engineering colleges in Kerala, this throws light on its popularity as well as simplicity in the curriculum which can be studied by even the weaker students.

Placement Experience :

Our College has an excellent record of placement over the last years. The college is visited by top companies like Adobe, Microsoft, IBM, CISCO, etc with excellent packages depending on the ability of the students. The college also supports internships. We have an internship cell that helps the students to register for suitable internships. It also provides an option for the students to get job opportunities in the same companies in which they did the internships. The placement cell of CET arranges internships for the students of the college. The general stipend of the internship ranges from 3000 to 5000 per month.

College Events :

The college conducts one of the biggest cultural fests in Kerala 'Dhwani'. It is one of the most extravagant cultural fests in Kerala after Ragam. Onam Celebrations are carried out grandly in the college with a variety of programs. Drishti: CET hosts management cum tech fest "drishti" every year for enhancing the practical knowledge of students. Disha is the cultural competition conducted exclusively for the first years, thereby officially welcoming them to the CET family.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure of the college is highly feasible. The govt. ensures that the fee charged is affordable by all students belonging to any section of the society. The college also provides scholarship and fee waivers to help the students coming from the weaker section of society. The specified fee structure mandated by the government is 8825Rs per semester. Including exam fees and other additional charges, it amounts to about 10000 rupees per semester. Considering other colleges it is very cheap.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college provides fee waivers for students who are coming from the weaker section of society. Also, scholarships are provided to meritorious students who excel academically. The CET also provides a scholarship of the complete waving of the tuition fee for the students who come first in the previous university examination. I have availed of the Egrantz scholarship scheme which is provided to the students coming from the financially weaker sections.

Hostel Facilities :

The College has its own Men's Hostel and Ladies Hostel. The best of the hostel facilities are provided by the college. The hostel has a good ambiance and excellent infrastructure. Both the hostel has their own gym, reading rooms, library, central computing facility, and other essential requirements. Men's and women's hostels are inside the College of Engineering Trivandrum, [CET] Thiruvananthapuram campus which is very helpful. Total rent including food costs around 3500 depending on the menu opted and programs or celebrations taking place in the hostel on special occasions. The food is far better than those served in the mess of other government colleges.

Faculty :

Our College has the best faculties with thorough experience in the field of engineering and research. We've been provided with the faculties who completed their education in prestigious institutions like IIT's or NIT's and have done research in various fields of engineering. They are really approachable for any kind of guidance we seek.

Placement and job opportunities are fairly good in my college. A lot of good companies come for placement drives every year but it mostly depends on the student themselves. Companies like cisco,MuSigma, Goldman Sachs, Ernst and Young, Larsen and Toubro and many more come every year.
