Best thing that has happened to me.

Remarks :

Best college of Odisha in terms of infrastructure, faculties, fee structure, curriculum, sports, hygiene, lab facilities and quality of food in the hostels. If you get a chance to study in this college, don't think twice and just grab this opportunity with both hands.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The subjects which are taught in the class and the experiments which are done in the labs are very helpful for a student. These concepts definitely finds applications in the near future of a student. These helps the students to clear competitive exams easily as well benefit those students who opt for jobs in various organisations. So as per me the course curriculum and the way of its execution is quite good.

Internships Opportunities :

The college provides internship to some students and others have to contact the alumini to avail such facilities. Some internships are paid and some are unpaid. Paid internships provides aid upto 15k per annum. The college also approaches some organisations to train the students in form of internships. For this the selection is completely merit based.

Placement Experience :

The placement in the college is more than excellent. About 40-50 companies comes every year and about 92% of students get placed on campus every year. The average package of placed students is about 3.5 lakhs per annum. So as per me the placement and job opportunities are awesome in this college which makes it a better place to opt for the students.

College Events :

Every year there is a technical fest, sports fest and cultural fest. In these fests the college organises Various events in which students across the state come to participate. There are exciting prizes, gift hampers, cups and medals kept for the winners in order to provide them positive motivation.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

I think the fee structure is the most feasible among all colleges. The course fees is 37 thousand per semester and hostel fees is 12k per semester which is very much feasible as per me. The books and all are very easily available in the library and the seniors also give their books sometimes.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The students of our college receive various scholarships such as medhabruti, prerana, CSSS etc. In the admission day only Various banks reach out to the college to offer education loan at a low rate of interest. So there students can avail the loan facilities else they can reach out to the banks as well.

Campus Life :

The lab facilities are excellent. The labs are equipped with all modern instruments and there are professionals who demonstrate the experiments in the best way possible. There are sports teams also which is funded by the college as well as the alumini. Every year the college organises sports fest namely illumina.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facilities are excellent in terms of infrastructure, cleanliness, hygiene, food quality, gardens, playground, study room, beds, mess etc. I would rate it 9/10 and I am quite overwhelmed by availing such wonderful facilities for 4 years.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumini and senior students are very helpful and cooperative. Senior students help the juniors a lot in studies, sports, managing a fest etc. The alumini of this college always stay connected to the students through alumni meets via web. The help us to get internship opportunities and fetch many others important informations.

Exam Structure :

In a semester we have 100 marks paper which is divided into 2 parts i.e, end semester exam worth 70 marks and mid semester exams worth 20 marks. The rest 10 marks are divided such: 5 marks for attendance and 5 marks for submitting the assignment. 75% attendance is necessary for appearing the exam and 65% if you are sick for some period. You need to provide the medical certificate for this.

Admission :

The selection into the college is based on jee mains entrance exam. The students need to give the preferred colleges during the choice filling round. If the college cut off matches the secured marks of a student, he or she gets a seat in that college. My case was also the same. My first option was mechanical engineering in VSSUT, Burla and I cleared the cut off and got a seat in this college.

Faculty :

The faculties here are quite knowledgeable and experienced and at the same time they are cooperative as well as helpful. They teach us in the class in such a way that each and every student gets the concept. And in case of any doubts you are free to move to their respective chambers to clear it. They make sure that each and every student gets a certain concept so that he/she can clear competitive exams easily. So the faculties are the best up to my knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had chosen this course because at that time I was keenly interested in Engineering drawings, architecture, construction as well as estimations and costing. Here the faculty-student ratio is approx 1:18. Almost 1/3rd of the faculty are permanent and have a doctorate and they are well experienced. Guest faculties are also from prestigious colleges holding masters and bachelors. Examinations were conducted regularly in class as well as there used to be 2 internals in a sem and one end sem exam. Questions were set by the BPUT and it was moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

College claims to provide 100% placements to its students, Students from the 7th semester can sit in placements. Many big companies come to recruit on campus every year like Amazon, Dell, Accenture, Wipro, cognizant. The HIghest package was Rs 39lpa by amazon. Profiles like data analyst, software developer, coding, data scientists etc are offered by companies. I am planning to take up an IT sector job

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester onwards. Companies like Ajatus, Byjus, Wipro , Infosys offer placement opportunities in our college. The placement rate has deteriorated over the past 5 years. Earlier 50 %-80%students were placed but now only 20%-30%are placed. Earlier the highest package was 10 LPA and the average package was 4LPA. Now the rate has decreased greatly. The college still tries its best to bring companies. Earlier the placements were more of on-campus placements but now it's mostly off campus. The training and placement cell hence prepares students for the recruitment process and selects the best students and gets them placed. After getting the degree I would be applying for interviews on the technical line off-campus and side by side I would do my higher studies like M.TECH.
