Remarks :
Being the oldest college in India, it must concentrate on innovations in the field of education which is not considered currently. It is having a huge reputation but in my opinion, it is not standing up to it's name.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course Curriculum is quite flexible where any student of any branch can take interest in any field he desires. Exam structure really needs modification and implementation of new techniques of evaluation is a must.
Placement Experience :
Placement is good but can be improved Internships are provided to 3rd-year students As I'm currently in 1st year, I don't have any experience with internships. But my seniors have all done internships and are highly benefitted from it
College Events :
Raionzo- Student Alumni Fest I was a volunteer in it We had fun and learned a lot Thomso- Cultural Fest Of Uttarakhand We had three professional nights and international stars were brought to the campus Cognizance- Technical Fest Of IITR
Fee Structure And Facilities :
For BTech - 1.35 lakh per semester including all expenses It is a bit expensive Additionally, it is the same amount for all IITS but not feasible for some dedicated students hence it must be reduced to atleast 1 lakh per sem.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
MCM - Based on merit or CGPA of student Available for top 10% of students. Students short on money rely really hard on this. Fund comes directly from the center of the Indian government. It is really important.
Campus Life :
They are excellent. We are provided with each and every piece of equipment we require to the best of our qualities. We have everything from basketball, cricket, football, squash, baseball, hockey, judo, weightlifting, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel infrastructure is poor and facilities are average. The building is as old as the campus and has never been refurbished. The food is very cheap. Though the quality is good it never tastes good enough.
Alumni/Alumna :
The Alumni network is extensively rich due to the history of the institute. Seniors are extremely helpful and generous in providing frequent treats(chapos). They also help in homework and assignment completions.
Admission :
There is a two-step procedure. 1) JEE MAINS- You have to clear the cutoff criteria in the highly competitive examination which is held twice a year, once in January and the other in April 2) JEE ADVANCED- You have to clear JEE Advanced with the additional requirement of clearing individual cutoffs for each subject along with the overall cutoff Depending on your category the cutoff varies and depending on your rank you can enter any of the IITs with adequate branches.
Faculty :
College faculty is average as far as the expectations of an IIT are prevalent. Teachers are mostly old and as a result less energetic. This leads to a decrease in interest of the students towards studies.
