NIT Surathkal is ranked 13 for BTech by NIRF 2020 whereas, NIT Warangal is ranked 19 for the same by NIRF 2020. Both the institute offers BTech and MTech programs for Civil Engineering.

Civil Engineering is one of the oldest engineering disciplines because it deals with constructing an environment. The course curriculum includes planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintaining of building structures.

Admission:

NIT Surathkal:

  • B. Tech in Civil Engineering (2 yrs) has a student intake of 106. For admission the accepted exam is JEE Main. In 2019 the closing cutoff was 28144. The total course fees for BTech is 5.39 lakhs.
  • For the MTech Civil program, the examination accepted for admission is GATE and the total course fees are 1.39 lakhs.

NIT Warangal:

  • B. Tech in Civil Engineering (4 yrs) at NIT Warangal has 92 seats and the accepted entrance exam for admission is JEE Main. Total course fee for BTech is around 5.32 lakhs.
  • For MTech, the department offers Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems, Construction Technology and Management, Geotechnical Engineering, and Water resources engineering. There are 20 seats in each stream. For admission the entrance exam accepted is GATE. The MTech program costs around 1.5 lakhs.

Placement:
