The JEE Main Physics section requires speed and accuracy, along with a thorough understanding of the Gas laws. This article provides a set of JEE Main PYQs on Gas laws to help you understand the topic and improve your problem-solving skills with the help of detailed solutions by ensuring conceptual clarity, which will help you in the JEE Main 2026 preparation.

Whether you're revising the basics or testing your knowledge, these JEE Main PYQs will serve as a valuable practice resource.

The JEE Main 2026 exam is likely to continue on the same pattern as JEE Main 2025. Out of 90 questions, students can expect a fair mix from all three subjects. To get an edge, going through JEE Main previous year questions (PYQs) is one of the best strategies.

Given below are two statements: one is labelled as Assertion (A) and the other is labelled as Reason (R).
Assertion (A) : If Young’s double slit experiment is performed in an optically denser medium than air, then the consecutive fringes come closer.
Reason (R) : The speed of light reduces in an optically denser medium than air while its frequency does not change.
In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below :

      • Both (A) and (R) are true and (R) is the correct explanation of (A)
      • (A) is false but (R) is true.
      • Both (A) and (R) are true but (R) is not the correct explanation of (A)
      • (A) is true but (R) is false.

      The increase in pressure required to decrease the volume of a water sample by 0.2percentage is \( P \times 10^5 \, \text{Nm}^{-2} \). Bulk modulus of water is \( 2.15 \times 10^9 \, \text{Nm}^{-2} \). The value of \( P \) is ________________.

Given below are two statements: one is labelled as Assertion (A) and the other is labelled as Reason (R).

Assertion (A): Choke coil is simply a coil having a large inductance but a small resistance. Choke coils are used with fluorescent mercury-tube fittings. If household electric power is directly connected to a mercury tube, the tube will be damaged.

Reason (R): By using the choke coil, the voltage across the tube is reduced by a factor \( \frac{R}{\sqrt{R^2 + \omega^2 L^2}} \), where \( \omega \) is the frequency of the supply across resistor \( R \) and inductor \( L \). If the choke coil were not used, the voltage across the resistor would be the same as the applied voltage.

In light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below:

            • Both (A) and (R) are true and (R) is the correct explanation of (A)
            • (A) is false but (R) is true
            • Both (A) and (R) are true but (R) is not the correct explanation of (A)
            • (A) is true but (R) is false

A bar magnet has total length \( 2l = 20 \) units and the field point \( P \) is at a distance \( d = 10 \) units from the centre of the magnet. If the relative uncertainty of length measurement is 1%, then the uncertainty of the magnetic field at point P is:

The maximum speed of a boat in still water is 27 km/h. Now this boat is moving downstream in a river flowing at 9 km/h. A man in the boat throws a ball vertically upwards with speed of 10 m/s. Range of the ball as observed by an observer at rest on the river bank is cm. (Take g = 10 m/s²).
