How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

To establish a healthy relationship with the students, we have to create a positive atmosphere in the classroom. Listening to the student's doubts and issues will elevate their stress and they can concentrate on their studies. We help them both with the academic and social problems they may be facing. For our teachers, we try to always be there for them and encourage active learning and research.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

To bring a practical approach to studies, we encourage students to participate in different activities besides classroom teaching. They also attend educational tours so that they can witness classroom concepts in practice. The teachers use creative methods and games to teach the course and they assign regular projects to the students. We have also established a collaborative and engaging environment in the college that makes learning fun.

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students which help them gain necessary skills?

Our best practices would be using the latest teaching methods for our students. We also use new healthcare interventions to prepare our students to work in the workplace. Before graduating, students learn the procedures or techniques based on high-quality evidence in order to obtain improved patient and health outcomes.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated to make it befitting for the students?

As a part of strategising our curriculum, we make sure to state our curriculum’s vision and, objectives. We also identify the latest teaching and learning resources available in the industry and try to include them along with the latest audio-visual aids. Our students are also motivated to take part in research.

What do you see the department’s/ college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

Our college focuses on providing education and extracurricular activities with the students in mind. We foster critical thinking among our students. To achieve this, we plan activities that force students to communicate, take the lead and learn management skills. All of this helps immensely in their careers. We also have a large alumni network that helps us with placements and training.

What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

As a nurse, I offer some advice to those considering nursing as a career. Research the different types of nursing roles available, such as bedside nursing, advanced practice nursing, and nurse leadership, to find the best fit for your skills and interests. Develop strong communication and interpersonal skills, as nursing often involves working closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Stay informed about current issues and trends in healthcare, as nursing practice is constantly evolving. Consider the potential impact of shift work and long hours on your lifestyle and personal commitments
