Dr. K. Ramesh Reddy is the Principal of G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science for Women. He obtained his B. Tech from Nagarjuna University in 1985, M.Tech from REC, Warangal in 1989, and Ph.D. from S.V. University. He has 28 years of teaching experience. He has authored two books “Modelling of Power System Components” and “Basic Circuit Theory”. He organized four National conferences and ten workshops. He presented around 60 research papers at National and International Conferences and Journals. He is a Member of BOS of several reputed Institutions including JNTUH. He is a Member of IEEE, IE(I), NAFEN, and an expert Committee Member of the National Board of Accreditation. He inspected a few colleges as an Expert Member of the NBA for the Accreditation. He is a reviewer for the National Journal of Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata & International Journal of IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, Journal of Power Electronics, South Korea, and International Journal of Power Electronics & Drives, UK. Presently he is a Member of the Technical Committee of “The International Association of Science & Technology Development (IASTED) conference”, in Calgary, Canada. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of “The World Academy of Science, Engineering, and Technology (WASET)”. He received the “Best Engineering Teacher Award” from ISTE and the “Academic Excellence Award” from GNITS. Three candidates were awarded Ph.D., and two submitted under his guidance. Presently five students are pursuing Ph.D. under his guidance. His research areas include Power Quality, Power Harmonics, and Custom Power Devices.

Can you describe your more than seven years of journey with GNITS College and how the institution evolved over that period?

My journey of 7+ years with GNITS College has been a rewarding and transformative experience. When I first joined the institution, it was already renowned for its commitment to women’s education and its dedication to providing quality technical education. Over the years, I have witnessed a significant evolution in several aspects. The college has continually updated its curriculum to stay aligned with the latest industry trends and technological advancements. We have also expanded our infrastructure and facilities to provide state-of-the-art resources to our students. Moreover, GNITS has always encouraged research and innovation, and it has grown as a hub for cutting-edge research and academic excellence.


How do you balance the needs of faculty, students, and administration as a Principal of GNITS Institute?

Balancing the needs of faculty, students, and administration is a challenging yet essential part of my role as the Principal of GNITS. It involves effective communication, collaboration, and prioritization. I ensure our faculty members have the necessary resources and support to excel in teaching and research. At the same time, I strive to create a conducive learning environment for our students by addressing their academic and personal needs. Furthermore, managing the administrative aspects efficiently is crucial for the smooth functioning of the institution. Regular meetings, feedback mechanisms, and a collaborative approach help in achieving this balance.

GNITS College stands out from other colleges in the city due to several differentiating factors.
