I chose environmental engineering because of saves the environment and improves the water, wastewater and air pollution from our society. In this college, have sufficient faculty. All professors are PhD qualified and 10 year of teaching experience. After 3 months take mid-semester and after 5 month end semester examination conducted by college.

Placement Experience:

For the Ph.D. student, there is not any campus selection. After completion of Ph.D. course, I will join the college for teaching purposes. If I will write or published 2 or 3 national papers during my PhD then it will be very helpful for my future plan.

Yes, I faced written and interview during my selection. First we will be shortlisted based on our educational qualifications and GATE score. After that, we need to give the written test which is also similar to GATE exam and followed by interview. In the interview, the panel was focused on my previous research experience, my basics in the area which I want work, knowledge in mathematics, how interested I am for doing this phd degree.

Campus Life:

Yes, there are several social clubs which are initiated by students as well as faculty. Tech fest and annual fests also conducted periodically. Since the Institute is in infant stage, the volumes of books available is less but we have quite good enough for online sources. For sports, the campus is having football, volleyball, badminton, tennis and basketball courts with all facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is hard and fast. There is no use bunking or skipping classes. You have to be top notch in any case. Course is two years based that means four semesters. Exams usually held in the month of Nov-Dec odd semester and May-June even semester. First and second semester consists of technical and management related subjects and practical. But in final year one need to research work on his interest area of work.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

The Fees is about 40k per semester excluding hostel and other additional charges. As it is a government institute the fee structure is very feasible and the college charges the amount of around 14000 rupees per semester from the regular students of M.E and the hostel fee is also very feasible for around 5000 rupees per semester and for lodging and mess fees for food is 2500 rupees per month.

Admission:

It is a well established university for my specialization in south India. I have a qualified GATE scorecard, which is a mandate requirement. I was called for interview after i have cleared the written examination. Upon clearing the interview, I have joined as a research scholar in Civil engineering (Water Resources & Environmental division).

Remarks:

The positive is that its a nationalized university. There is a huge reputation for the university. There is a huge infrastructure lag in the campus which is completely not addressed. The food is not good in many of the mess for the students residing in the hostels.

Admission:

I am working as a research scholar in Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering Department. The process for getting selected as a research scholar is to go through the interview process which will be conducted 2 times a year - July and November. The reason for choosing this college is that this college lies in the list of top 3 NITs, and also I did my PG from the same college. After you PG, you need to apply for Ph.D in the institute website. Once you get shortlisted, you need to go through the written examination and then an interview. Results will be notified in the institute website within 15 days of interview.

Placement Experience:

Me being from the Water Resources Engineering specialisation, I can list out the companies that visited the campus for their placement drives. Companies are Atkins, L&T, Aarvee Associates, other construction companies, and many colleges (for faculty positions). Tentative percentage of placements varies, and is not fixed. There will be a placement cell, where it will be managed by students only for getting those companies to college. The shortlisting of students will be done based on companies placement rules and regulations.
