  • There is less interaction within the department among students

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum should get change a little bit. It's a design course, so the curriculum should be more flexible and student should able to focus on one problem at a time, not many problems at one time. There is a lack of real world application, sometimes it's there but most of the time it's not. The exams are on time.

Internships Opportunities :

There are two internship opportunities provided by the department- Within the department, With IITD, Design department. It will be without stipend payment. It will be of time duration around 2-3 months.

Placement Experience :

From semester 3rd student become eligible for campus placement. The list of companies visited and no. Of offers made can be vary each year. Average package can range from 5-7 lakh per annum. As recently placements aren't up to the mark.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tuition fees has increased after covid. Complete tuition fee is 400000. There is teaching assistant stipend for masters student given by AICTE on qualifying the CEED exam for the same. Amount of Rs. 12,400 can avail per month. Students can do internship under professors or PhD students within the campus.

Campus Life :

Engifest (in the month of February) annual cultural fest of DTU focuses on innovation and cultural aspects, Yuvaan is literary Society fest, Invictus is tech related fest focuses on innovation and tech skill. Aahvaan is a sports fest of DTU. One can easily access library by visiting and online too with DTU student email I'd. Sports and extra curricular facilities are provided, there is a little lack of coach for every sports.

Hostel Facilities :

There are two kind of hostels- AC and Non-AC. Rooms are little congested, there are three students in one room. Facilities are provided. Menu is appreciable, it is healthy and balanced. But the taste become bland after few months. It can happen in any mess. Ac hostel fees : 72,000 Non Ac hostel fees : 52,000 Mess fees : 34,800 Registration process is easy and online.

Admission :

You should clear the CEED exam and have the CEED score. Through CEED score, you can go to DTU website and can apply for admission. Application date comes around April-May months ( should check the official DTU website regularly) There is one more written or studio test and an interview taken by the college if you get qualify on the basis of your CEED score. ( in most of the cases, you'll qualify). The process is good and clean.

Faculty :

In my department, faculty to student ratio is low, but the existing faculties are well qualified and educated. They are quite approachable. You can easily interact with them with your problems, they would be happy to help.

Admission:

Through the process of GD and PI. There was an entrance exam conducted first. After which students were shortlisted according to the cutoff marks and then called for the process of GD PI. After which the students were called for counseling and got the Nift campus according to their merit rank.

Placement Experience:

The placements and job opportunities are quite good. All the high and known brands and companies visit the college for their recruitment process. We are given the freedom to work or intern in any area of our interest in the fashion industry which is what I appreciate.

Remarks:

my review of the college is both positive as well as negative. i really like the atmosphere, there is a very good social interaction with people of different background. the negative of it was the fees mainly, so middle class family students should think before admission.
