Rajasthan BTech Admission 2024: REAP, Eligibility, Selection, Dates, Colleges, Counselling

Rajasthan BTech Admission 2024 is conducted by the Centre of Electronic Governance, on behalf of the RTU. BTech Admission in Rajasthan for the year 2024 will be done based on REAP 2024; registrations are expected to begin in May 2024. The Rajasthan BTech Admission is based on the marks obtained in a state or national-level entrance exam followed by a counseling session held online.

Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process popularly known as REAP is conducted by the Centre of Electronic Governance (CEG) Rajasthan, under the supervision of Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) acting as an authority. Candidates can also qualify for the JEE Main to seek Rajasthan BTech Admission 2024.

Rajasthan BTech Admission counseling has already begun for offering admissions to candidates to different Government as well as Private Institutions of Rajasthan. BTech is a 4-year undergraduate engineering course that is available in several specializations.

Rajasthan BTech Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for candidates willing to seek admission into the BTech programs in Rajasthan is as stated below-

  • The candidate must have passed/cleared 10+2 with at least an aggregate score of 45% of marks with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Technical Vocational as compulsory subjects from a recognized and known board such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • The Candidate must have qualified JEE Main examination.

NOTE - 40% marks in class 12th must be secured by the reserved category candidates.

  • Any Candidate born on or after October 01, 1994, is eligible for the Rajasthan BTech admission process in 2024.
  • Date of birth (DoB) provided in the Secondary Education mark sheet or certificate is taken as authentic.

NOTE – For reserved category students - Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Person with Disability (PwD) candidates, a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit is provided.

Rajasthan BTech Admission 2024: Selection Procedure

The following is the procedure for Rajasthan BTech Admission:

  • The admission procedure is followed by online registration, choice filling, reporting in the allotted college, and payment of admission fee.
  • Admissions to BTech courses in Rajasthan are mainly done through entrance tests like JEE Main, REAP, and RPET.
  • The candidate must fill out the REAP application form available in online mode.
  • The Candidates must register for the engineering admission process online on the official website of Rajasthan Technical University (RTU).
  • The admission is provided on the basis of merit and score of JEE Mains or any other prescribed entrance exam.
  • The Candidate will be able to check REAP results by visiting the official website of RTU.
  • The seats in the private and government engineering colleges of Rajasthan are provided on the basis of rank and score obtained by the candidates in the accepted exam. The Candidates will be shortlisted and selected for the counseling procedure on the basis of a merit list prepared by the concerned authority.
  • The candidate will have to appear for the REAP counseling process as per the prescribed schedule - venue and time mentioned.
  • The counseling will be conducted by various institutions on separate levels.
  • At the final stage, document verification takes place, and the provisional seat allotment letter will be given to the candidates for reporting to the allotted institution and admission.

  • The counseling for 2024 will be done in September 2024.
  • The REAP-2024 counseling is applicable for any candidate shortlisted by the merit list.
  • The REAP counseling date is released by the authority on the official authorized website.
  • The candidates must visit the website for time to time updates.

Ans. Jadavpur University has managed to survive the recession to give its student a handsome placement package. My friend is currently studying there and their placement happens all around the years, unlike IITs where placement happens for two weeks or so. Like most engineering colleges, CSE as usual tops the placement with their highest packages. The most popular recruiters include Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, etc. Almost 100% of students are placed in all the branches. Ans. The fundamental difference between BE and BTech is the way these courses are delivered. Contrary to the popular misconception, BE isn’t just theory oriented. Both BE and BTech coursework includes theory as well as practicals. But a BTech offers a more in-depth and advanced level study of a particular field. While BE covers the fundaments.  There are no such differences between BE and BTech, other than the course pattern. These two courses are considered equivalent. Your career essentially depends upon how ready you are to prepare in the best way possible.  No amount of external guidance can assist you in gaining a fruitful career prospect, let alone the university. Prepare thoroughly while pursuing any course you are inclined towards.  You can also choose to prepare for either of the major competitive exams, GATE, CAT, IES among others. Ans. Amrita and VIT are very different from each other. Amrita University has a controlled environment, high focus on academics, and good placements. For a bright career, Amrita is a great place. But its campus life is very dull. One has to find a source of entertainment and growth on our own. VIT offers a vibrant and lively campus. The university has invested a lot in marketing and that is why there’s hype outside.  Opt for colleges that have a lot of clubs and committees and focus gives importance to cultural activities as well. REVA University lacks this. This will not only develop your personality but also improves your CV. It is a deemed university and the curriculum is not much updated. You will get less opportunities at the university The student crowd is not good, and the people of the college are not cooperative at all. Ans. A friend of mine did her BTech from IEM Kolkata and now she is working as a Cyber Security Analyst in a big firm. Here are a few things that she experienced in her duration at the college.  Unnecessary Rules: Students often complain about the unnecessary discipline enforced by the college to attend all of the lectures and seminars irrespective of their choice and usefulness. Faculty: In terms of faculty, there is a mix of average and good professors. But most of the good professors are moving to different colleges.  Placements: In the terms of placement, the data may show it as amazing but in reality, most of the students of IEM end up in mass recruiting jobs offered by any IT company. Only a few of the students end up in good companies.  If you are choosing IEM try to make the most of it. Other than college learning, try and take up some extra courses such as coding or hacking and security, it will help a lot. There are a handful of helpful faculties at IEM. Interacting and working with those professors will help a lot in going good places. Learn to utilize their time and learn new things. Learn something new and read as much as possible. If you are not happy with campus placements then you should look for off-campus placements as well.Read more

It is incredible to believe that a university that ranks among the top 15 engineering colleges of India, costs less than most universities around the nation.  Here is a brief highlight of different fees in JU.  Tuition fees: Rs. 2400 per year Refundable Caution Deposit: Rs 2500 (One time) Hostel fees: Rs. 1000 per month (It includes different kinds of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals as well) Examination fees: Rs. 60 to Rs. 70 per semester Library Fine (if a book is submitted late): 6 Paisa per day for some books and 50 Paisa per day for others.
