IIT Cut Off 2024: Category, Institute and Course-Wise Cutoff for all IITs

IIT releases cut-off every year based on JEE advanced score. JoSAA releases the cut-off in different rounds. Candidates can check the opening and closing ranks of various courses released on the official website of josaa.nic.in. JoSAA releases the JEE Main cut-off for IITs, NITs and IIITs. 

The JEE Main 2024 cutoff is 93.2362181 for General, 79.6757881 for OBC, 81.3266412 for EWS, 60.0923182 for SC, 46.6975840 for ST and 0.0018700 for PwD categories. The JEE Main cut-off for this year has increased by 2.45% from the previous year. The minimum marks to qualify for JEE Advanced 2024 are 35% for CRL, 31.5% for OBC-NCL/ EWS and 17.5% for SC/ ST/ PwD. Also, the registrations for IIT JEE Advanced 2024 will begin on April 27 instead of April 21.

Ans. Jadavpur University has managed to survive the recession to give its student a handsome placement package. My friend is currently studying there and their placement happens all around the years, unlike IITs where placement happens for two weeks or so. Like most engineering colleges, CSE as usual tops the placement with their highest packages. The most popular recruiters include Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, etc. Almost 100% of students are placed in all the branches. Both BE and BTech coursework includes theory as well as practicals. But a BTech offers a more in-depth and advanced level study of a particular field. While BE covers the fundaments.  There are no such differences between BE and BTech, other than the course pattern. These two courses are considered equivalent. Ans. A friend of mine did her BTech from IEM Kolkata and now she is working as a Cyber Security Analyst in a big firm. Here are a few things that she experienced in her duration at the college.  Unnecessary Rules: Students often complain about the unnecessary discipline enforced by the college to attend all of the lectures and seminars irrespective of their choice and usefulness. Faculty: In terms of faculty, there is a mix of average and good professors. But most of the good professors are moving to different colleges.  Placements: In the terms of placement, the data may show it as amazing but in reality, most of the students of IEM end up in mass recruiting jobs offered by any IT company. Only a few of the students end up in good companies.  If you are choosing IEM try to make the most of it. Other than college learning, try and take up some extra courses such as coding or hacking and security, it will help a lot. There are a handful of helpful faculties at IEM. Interacting and working with those professors will help a lot in going good places. Learn to utilize their time and learn new things. Learn something new and read as much as possible. If you are not happy with campus placements then you should look for off-campus placements as well.Read more
