Kerala BTech Admission 2024 is based on an entrance exam. The Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE) is responsible for conducting the entrance exam (KEAM), admission process, and counseling rounds for Kerala BTech Admission 2024. 

KEAM is the only state-level entrance exam conducted to offer Kerala BTech Admission 2024. The registration process for KEAM 2024 will continue till April 19, 2024, to offer BTech Admission to the Top Engineering Colleges in Kerala. Kerala BTech Lateral Entry Admission will open in June  2024. 

BTech is a 2-year undergraduate engineering course. After the commencement of the Entrance examination, a merit list is prepared by the concerned body, and the allocation of colleges process starts. The dates regarding result announcement, counseling, and seat allotment will be notified soon by the officials.

Kerala BTech Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria

  • For B.tech admission, candidates must have passed class 12 with an aggregate percentage of 50% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English from a recognized board.
  • Candidates must be Indian citizens to get admission into B.tech colleges in Kerala. Apart from this, candidates of Indian origin and Overseas Citizens of India will also be eligible for the admission procedure. However, only a limited number of seats are reserved for such candidates.
  • Candidates are classified as Keralite and Non-Keralite depending upon the domicile of the candidates.

Kerala BTech Admission Process 2024

  • Visit the official website of the statutory body.
  • Under the registration tab, click on the option of ‘New Registration’.
  • Candidates need to fill in all the important details such as the Name of the candidates, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Academic qualification, and all others needed for filling out the application form.
  • After the registration process is over, candidates need to make the payment of the application fees as per the category.
  • Candidates must keep the Login credentials as they will be further used for checking out results and the college allotment process.

Kerala BTech Admission 2024: Results

After the commencement of the entrance examination, the result is declared by the statutory body.

  • Candidates must check their results by logging in to the official website.
  • The result contains the marks scored by the candidate in a particular subject along with the overall marks of the candidate.
  • The result sheet will also highlight the rank scored by the candidates.
  • Further, a rank list is prepared by the official body by arranging the marks scored by the candidates in the entrance examination.
  • The cutoff will be made official and it depends upon the number of candidates appearing for the examination along with the category of the candidate and highest marks scored in the KEAM entrance exam.

Kerala BTech Admission 2024: Counselling

  • After the rank list is out, the counseling process is conducted in multiple rounds.
  • Candidates who have qualified for the entrance examination can appear for the counseling schedule.
  • Candidates will be called for choice filling and preferences of the colleges.
  • Candidates can give their preferences for college by logging into the official website.
  • After the locking of choices has been made, the seat allotment process starts.
  • Candidates are allotted colleges based on the preference given by them, seat availability, and cutoff of the particular institute for the KEAM entrance examination.

Kerala BTech Admission 2024: FAQs

Ques. Is the application process conducted via online mode only?

Ans. The application process is conducted via online mode only. No application form is accepted in the offline mode or via speed post by the statutory body.

Ques. What are the application fees for the registration process?

Ans. The application fees for the registration process for the General category and OBC is Rs. 700, and for the SC category is Rs. 300. There are no application fees for candidates belonging to the ST category.

Ques. What are the essential documents for the admission process?

Ans. The essential documents needed for the admission process are class 10 and class 12 mark sheet, Character Certificate, Migration Certificate, Pass Certificate, Category Certificate, Income Certificate, Seat allotment letter, and other documents as required for the admission process.

Ques. Can a candidate apply for the entrance examination if he/she has passed the class 12 board examination but is still not 17 years of age?

Ans. Candidates must meet the lower limit of age. Candidates must be of 17 years as of 31 December of the said year.

Ques. What if a candidate lost the password for getting into the official website?

Ans. Candidates can regenerate the password by clicking on the forgot password option while logging in. An OTP will be generated upon verifying which candidate can successfully change the password. The login credentials are available on the registered email address and mobile number.

Ans. Jadavpur University has managed to survive the recession to give its student a handsome placement package. My friend is currently studying there and their placement happens all around the years, unlike IITs where placement happens for two weeks or so. Here are a few things that she experienced in her duration at the college.  Unnecessary Rules: Students often complain about the unnecessary discipline enforced by the college to attend all of the lectures and seminars irrespective of their choice and usefulness. Faculty: In terms of faculty, there is a mix of average and good professors. But most of the good professors are moving to different colleges.  Placements: In the terms of placement, the data may show it as amazing but in reality, most of the students of IEM end up in mass recruiting jobs offered by any IT company. Only a few of the students end up in good companies.  If you are choosing IEM try to make the most of it. Other than college learning, try and take up some extra courses such as coding or hacking and security, it will help a lot. There are a handful of helpful faculties at IEM. Interacting and working with those professors will help a lot in going good places. Learn to utilize their time and learn new things. Learn something new and read as much as possible.
