Remarks :

This college has the best infrastructure in the area. They classrooms are huge enough to hold the capacity of at least 150 students. All the labs are highly equipped and all the classes have smart class projectors.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This Ph.D course can be done in both ways, Part time or Full time. The full times candidates will be available for the period of three years with a stipend for 3 years. The part time Ph.D will be of 5 years.

Placement Experience :

The placements of NID is considered the best among other designing institutes. This all is possible because of the hard working placement cell in the college. They are providing almost 100% placement in the designing field.

College Events :

NID has a list of different departments and committees which helps to plan and organise. The different kinds of events in the college. They have many events like Annual fest, annual sports meet and one of the biggest is NIDUS where they exhibits all the designs made by their students.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees is almost the same like other colleges. As its provides Ph.D in general category with an overall cost of Rs. 3.62 lakhs for 3 years. Where the yearly fees comes to Rs. .21 lakhs which includes Rs. 1 lakh for tuition fee and Rs. 20800 as other fees.

Campus Life :

This college provides any extracurricular activities despite of giving any kind of preference to any student. Anyone can participate in any competition and there will be no participation regarding the award distribution.

Hostel Facilities :

The hotel rates in NID is very cheap. I am surprised that it costs only 25k-30k per year for both boys hostel and girls hostel. The charges may vary according to the preferences like 2 bedding, 3 bedding or 4 bedding rooms. Otherwise, the rooms are clean, mess is hygienic and the food is good.

Admission :

Candidates applying for admission in NID for Ph.D should have passed master degree in Design from recognized university. Or candidates having master degree in relevant ares of designs can also apply But they should have at least one eithrt UG or PG degree in the field of design.

Faculty :

The faculty in this college is probably the best in India in my opinion. They possess their knowledge and experience in such a good way in classroom that they make all they students take interest in their lectures.

Placement Experience:

Last year due to recession the placements were low comparatively. From semester 7 onwards we are eligible for campus placements. I do not exactly have the correct statistics, but all the students who tried outside got the jobs easily. Highest package 32 lacks and least goes upto 3 lacks per annum. Last yearpercentage of students placed is 66 and before that it was more than 90 My plan is to get a good job, after the degree and if I cannot get a good job then I will go for higher studies abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is not at all relevant, they are still teaching us subjects like c and electronics. For eg - in our 4th semester we have vb.net as our programming language which is very outdated langauge. There were also two language subjects - general English and additional language (hindi,English, kannada) which I think is kind of useless to learn two language in BCA.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements by the start of the 7th semester, and the internships by the 5th semester. Since Mangalore has many MNCs, most of the campus drives start with those companies. We have an average package of 18LPA and it varies according to each branch of engineering. Mostly all the computer science-related branches have 23LPA as their average and the core branches have 14LPA. Almost 95 per cent of the students get placed. The highest package has even crossed 50LPA.

Remarks:

My college life was quite busy and happening. I had really pleasant relationship with all my professors. They still guide me in my career. I had also made really amazing friends . Some of them are still in touch with me.

Admission:

After completing my higher secondary board exams, I was determined to read in this college since this is one of the best law colleges in Bangalore. I had to appear for an entrance exam for the admission process but I'm glad that I got selected.
