In term of comprehensive it covers all the Cse Subject that's the piller of computer science.and it also covers the subjects for GRADUATE aptitude test.so syllabus is quite vast for 4 years but backdated in front of todays technology

Students at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College (JGEC) become eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester of their course. The college has seen a robust placement record, with a wide array of companies visiting the campus to recruit students. In the recent 2023 batch, all eligible students were successfully placed. Prominent companies such as Atlassian, Microsoft, and Amazon were among the recruiters, offering a significant number of job opportunities. Some students received exceptional offers exceeding 50 lakhs per annum, highlighting the competitiveness and quality of placements. The average package offered to students was around 7 lakhs per annum, with variations depending on the company and job profile. Companies offered diverse roles in areas such as software development, data analytics, and system engineering.

The college boasts good placement stats.. with the highest package being of 83 lakh from atlassian (atleast this is what i have heard). Core placements are really really good. However this year...non core placements have taken a backstand with very little placements. Hoping for this situation to improve next year

As i am an IT student ,the course curriculum in Information Technology depatment at jalpaiguri government engineering college(JGEC) is designed to be relevant and comprehensive.I love coding so i choose cse but my wbjee rank doesnot too good so i choose IT.But come here i know that two department subjects are same so no problem(CSE=IT). The curriculum is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) and is periodically updated to include emerging technologies and trends imn the field of IT. All of the class attend in college and hostel has unlimited free wifi use it and study and coding in your room.

from 5th semester you are eligible for placement TCS , TATA POWER , ADANI POWER , BY JUS and many companies are visited in college the highest package is arround 44LPA and average package is arround 8-9LPA lowest is 3LPA in 2023 almost 100% student placed my plan after getting degree getting a good job

Campus Placement formally starts from the 7th semester... In our department, around 85-90% get placed by the 4th year considering both on- and off- campus placements. Others may opt for higher studies or go for start-ups, etc. There's usually a record of companies such as Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Media.net, NetMeds, Amazon, Aakash and few others visiting the campus for recruitment processes.

Currently IT field are very demanding so, iI chose the Information Technology. Faculty and student ratio are quite good in this college, The all faculty are very helpfull. All faculty are highly qualified in the respective field. As a autonomus college the problem set are organized by our institute only, so you have to attend regular classes.

we have a 96 percentage in on campus college placement in last year.From 4 th year students become eligible for campus placements.Tcs cognizent, adanai, amazon and many others reputed company visited and made many oofers for students.we have a 80 lpa highest package last yaer and average of 7 lpa. I have a job plan after getting the degree.

From 7 th semester students get the chance for placement, there are companies like TCS, Amazon, Wipro, Infosys, adani and many more well known company visit our college every year, highest package is around 60lpa and avarage varies between 8 to 10lpa, almost 99% students got placed
