i miss my home because my college far from my home.

Course Curriculum Overview :

As i am an IT student ,the course curriculum in Information Technology depatment at jalpaiguri government engineering college(JGEC) is designed to be relevant and comprehensive.I love coding so i choose cse but my wbjee rank doesnot too good so i choose IT.But come here i know that two department subjects are same so no problem(CSE=IT). The curriculum is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) and is periodically updated to include emerging technologies and trends imn the field of IT. All of the class attend in college and hostel has unlimited free wifi use it and study and coding in your room.

Class Size : 64Course Fees : INR 24000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

amazon offered imnternship and give 50000 stripend. and microsoft give 150000 stripend in our 3rd year college students. IBM, Google,infosys,geekforgeeks,tcs,medianet,cognizant,ubay,Byjus come to our college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

At the first semester course fee in IT department 16K and 2nd semester course fee 18k and 3rd semester to 8th semester fee are 12600. you can get svmcm scholarship in Btech course.this scholarship amount is 60,000/year. Additionally college provides intenship and tranning opportunities with companies IBM,WIPRO,INFOSYS,TCS,GEEK FOR GEEKS etc. and off campus placements are also available.

Campus Life :

The name of the annual and technical festivals are SRISTI,JECLAT etc. Lots of the books available in college library. All of they are good. All cricket ,football,batminton,basket ball, volley ball are available in college. All clubs are active and our seniors help in groups,clubs top learn most of things.

Hostel Facilities :

3 cupboard fo one of each and a bed and a table, two tubelight and no fan. Meal Quality is Average and chicken ,fish 6days in a week and 1day is egg. Follow jgec college website for hostel admiassion process.

Admission :

The admission process in Jalpaiguri Government Enginnering College(JGEC) is entranced based exam.(WBJEE) B Tech students and M TECH students, Lateral(JELET) students must appear in this college with a valid score. Review of IEM Kolkata, a strict Engineering College.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for the placements after the sixth semester. The companies that generally visit us for placements are TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, Oracle, IBM and some other ones. The highest package offered through last years is 22 Lacs Per Annum and on average it is 4-5 LPA. 90% students on average get placed Every year. My plans after getting the Degree is to pursue Freelancing Full Time and Become a Web Designer.

Good Placements

Placement Experience:

We become eligible from the later part of the third year to sit for the placements as the companies arrive then. Mainly placements are dependent on service-based companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro e.t.c. who mass recruits a whole lot of students with standard 3.5 to 4 LPA packages. Product-based companies like Oracle, Amazon, and trilogy too visited the campus. Oracle recruited a few of the candidates, Amazon too but nobody could clear the trilogy's OA rounds. Oracle offered a package of 15lpa and Amazon around 22 LPA. But a lot of students applied off campus and the highest placement off campus was 72 LPA in Google. The placement percentage is nearly 100% which is mainly due to the fact of service-based companies. I too am interested in IT jobs so am preparing for the same.
