Good faculty members. Faculties are qualified from reputed universities such as IITs, IISc, etc. There are 2 midterm exams of 20 marks each and one end sem exam of 60 marks per semester. Mid sem exams are easy but end sem exams are tough.
From my childhood, I dreamt to make my career in the research and development field. Metallurgy and materials science is the field where you can see so many opportunities in research areas. And another reason for choosing this college is, I like Metallurgy. Before choosing your branch you must study its curriculum. The faculty is very good at COEP. In my department, there is a total of 30 teachers including research scholars. Most of the facilities are Ph.D. holders. There are 2 tests (known as T1 and T2) and End semester exam.
My course curriculum is updated. As everyone is moving towards Python for programming language. Our college made Python course compulsory for First Year students. We have maths subject for all the 8 semesters. We also have Biology compulsory for every second year student. We also have subjects Professional Communication, Professional Ethics, Entrepreneurship development, Environmental studies etc.Atul Patil sir the teacher of the course Professional Communication is one of my favourite.
The syllabus was updated time to time. Tge course included a lot of practical work with time to time visits to the industrial units to demonstrate the actual work going on. Faculties were good but some of them were not up to the standards looking at their teaching skills.
Fee structure is simple and mentioned on colleges website. Thoughu the fee increases gradually from first year to final year. Fee is accepted by NEFT, Cheque, DD, etc Fee breakdown is quite clear and mentioned on website. For General open candidate, complete fee is applicable.
When I did my engineering the fee paid by me in 2015 was around 70k inclusive of hostel fees which was a pretty decent amount. The fees then could be paid by RTGS, NEFT or cash. There is a transparency in fee structure. There are no additional charges to be paid once the admission fee is given to the college.
Being a government institute fees are highly affordable. I did my entire engineering for less than 120000. Additionally, freeship is provided to economically challenged students.
