K J Somaiya College is incomparable!!

Likes

One of the biggest campuses with atleast 4 canteens and a special maggie point which is mostly our gathering point as well.
Our washrooms are so clean and plus seperate washrooms for girls make it convinient for us during periods.
Most caring faculties on earth is available at out college.

Dislikes

Our management is laid back as it takes them a long time to process documentation.
Many times classes get cancelled as repair work in on even during peak time of the college.

Internships Opportunities:

Indusind Bank is where i have secured my internship through Kites internship program which has made tie-up with our college. It was like getting inernship in domain of choice and because i chose finance, NBFC's and Banks were the ones where i gave interview and Indusind Bank selected me for the same.

Life At Somaiya Being A 3rd Year Student Pursuing BCOM.

Likes

A rich and lavish campus lifestyle of the campus
The hygienic and tasty food from college mess
The quality of the infrastructure and campus amenities

Dislikes

The security is too strict with different genders being together even at a safe distance.
Can't even play games, or card games or board games in campus.
The canteens are always full throughout the day.

Internships Opportunities:

The companies offering internships are CISCO, Microfocus, EY, Accenture, TCS, Microsoft, etc. Campus based projects such as Bloombox, Software Development Cell, Onyx, Orion etc were worked. These opportunities are provided for students to learn practical experience and technical skills.

Very greenish campus to move around and enjoy
Good food is available in the canteen to eat
The college has good facilities of lab for students

The placements are not that good but okayish
The college has very good ratio of students
The college has many clubs in which u can take part

Most companies visiting the campus offer the job of analyst, consultant, or graduate trainee engineer. We had SBI life insurance visiting the campus this year for placement. Overall if prepared well we can definitely grab.

An Extract of My Experience at KJ Somaiya for MCOM

I really like the campus, basically u've almost got every sport, its very good opportuny for atheletics, campus is really really beautiful.
Infrastructure is really good and since u get access to all the sports like 20 by 20 chess ground, football basketball and almost all the games.
People are nice, faculties are nice, but admin office employees are very rude. they have really great collection of books in library and there are a lots of libraries within the campus.

Dislikes

Faculty is not very professional & experienced, im not saying all professors. but some of them are actually really Good in teaching
Campus placement neeeds improvemnet, their placement ratio is really low. its better than other colleges but good enough, that persoanlly I feel, like 3L avg placement.
Admin staff is very rude, their break is like SBI lunch break, never ends, and u've to cooperate and very rude staff overall, not teahcers tough.

Internships Opportunities:

Our college has partenred with some companies for specifically Mcom students, for intersnhip, liek TCS, Reliance, HDFC, for internships like maketing intern, busincess development etc. also Finance Internship. stipend depends upon company but roughly 5K-15K.

The internet services in college are not that great , the teachers could be better but they try their best
College have so many opportunities, clubs and everything is good for participation
The mentorship quality is good teachers try the better they could, can be improved

Dislikes

Internet quality, internal marks issue and washrooms
Internet gets blockes and can't be done anything without wifi sometime wifi don't work too
Internal marks are hard to gain , we need to do the better we can still we don't get those marks properly

i am amazed by the campus and the way it is maintained and kept clean
the manner they teach the student and interact with them . they also help us is difficulty we face during the course
paper pattern they give us to write the paper is of 50 marks written and 50 internal and 5 marks min qestion and 10 marks max question and total 28 in written to pass and total 40 to pass

Dislikes

the time they have events and seminar it cannot be attended due to clash of lecture or practical
the schoralship is provided based on the merit
the parking is limited due to large crowd with vechile

Placement Experience:

from 5th semester students aee eligible for campus placment there are around 200 companies which provide placement to student in are college , like tata google microsoft cap gemini postman walmart mahindra and so on for high payment placement min 8.5 gdp and meduim payment placement min 6.5 gdp im aim to get master in information technology after degree for betterment in the company

College has 60-40 average girls boys ratio in each batch.
College has a nice spacious campus despite being in the crowded mumbai coty
College has a hospital with good patient flow which allows medical student to learn the medical science practically

Dislikes

Hostel facilities should have been better with affordable price
Mess food should have been better with better pricing
Surrounding area does not have any shops for students needs

Internships Opportunities:

After the course completion college offers the internship program of 1 year in the college As its a medical college you have to do the internship in a hospital The college also gives 10-11 thousand rupees per month stipend to every intern
