Sanitaion is really good, mess food is up to the mark.
No attendance issue for the CS/IT branch, you will have a lot of time to explore.

Dislikes

Campus life is really boring, club activities are only survival.
There is only one canteen and that serves only few items.

Fees and Financial Aid:

In the first year, you will have to pay a total of 1 lakh 15 thousand as tuition fees and then in subsequent years, the fees will be 1 lakh for a year. if you are opting for a hostel then you have to pay a hostel fee of 15000/year and mess fees of 19000 (per semester). you can get an UP scholarship of around 50,000 per year through the DSW department.

IET Lucknow is very cheap as compared to other NITs and IITs. since its a government-funded college. You can apply for UP POST METRIC SCHOLARSHIP. Which gives you around half of education fee. It becomes more cheaper.

Nobody has not to the concerned about fees as approx every person whose family income is less than 6 LPA will get a scholarship from the U.P. Government. If we talk about campus placement then in my branch approx 90% of people get placed.

The fee for branch IT and EI(electronics and instrumentation) fee is 104000. For all other branches fee is 89000. Hostel and mess fee will not be involved in the college Fee, 14000 for the hostel and 17000 for the mess. Scholarships is availed as Up scholarship by the up government.

The syllabus was not up to the level of iits but it was satisfactory. But by the year 2018 the college had updated the course as well as laboratories. Most of the senior faculty is very supportive like Dr Pawan Tiwari Sir of Computer Science Dept.

I know only about state government scholarship program in my college . State government provide 60k for GENERAL and OBC students nad for SC and ST students full refund of fees is provided.Most of the students find issue with the fees amount because fees is very high and scholarship is barely half of the amount we paid. I think loan facility is not available in my college because one time when I gone in the campus bank for loan discussion they said that student have to go to their native district for their loan .

Decide a branch that you prefer, after that go through the colleges of that particular branch. Pay attention to the college’s overall performance, placements, faculties, location, etc. as they are the major factors.

If you are inclined towards the IT sector and love coding then you should definitely choose IT. It will help you gain multiple opportunities in your career in the private sector.
If you are interested in building your career in the public sector, then the Chemical branch at IET Lucknow will be a better option.
You will get enough time for the preparation for exams like GATE or even PSU.
The Placement scenario at IET Lucknow for the Chemical branch is good. 64 students have been placed in the year 2020.

What should a 1st year IET Lucknow student know from the IT branch?

My sister is an alumnus of the IET Lucknow IT branch and here is some of her advice regarding the branch.

First and foremost, you must identify which field you are interested in. If you want to work in software development, you should be able to create code in an object-oriented programming language like C++ or Python, and you should practice by solving puzzles on Hackerrank.
You should enter several programming competitions; code chef long and lunchtime are highly suggested. Basic data structures can also be learned via Mycodeschool and you can practice on Hackerank and Geeksforgeeks.

Now let’s talk about the IT branch at IET Lucknow.

There is no difference between IT and the CS branch. Both branches face the same situations and follow the same curriculum.
Only TCS and WIPRO are the regular companies to attend the placement drive; the rest are uncertain. Occasionally, a large number of companies will arrive, while other times, none. According to the placement statistics of 2020, the median CTC offered was 5 LPA.

So, unless you have some senior help, the development of your talents is entirely dependent on your own hard work.

Which is better, IIIT Una IT or IET Lucknow IT?

Among IIIT Una and IET Lucknow, IT at IET Lucknow can be considered a better choice, mostly due to the reason of connectivity. There are several aspects that prefer an institute over the other in this case, some of which are listed below to help students make a decision.

IET Lucknow is a much more established and well-known college among the two and is also top-notch in terms of infrastructure and facilities. It is one of the best institutes in Uttar Pradesh too.
One prime disadvantage of IIIT Una is that it does not have a permanent campus to date. The classes and labs are held at the campus of NIT Hamirpur.
Although the weather of Harimpur is much more soothing than that of Lucknow, the bad connectivity of Harimpur creates a lot of problems for students. For students of other states, it will take at least a day to reach home from the hostel of NIT Hamirpur.
In terms of education and placement, both the institutes are almost at the same level.

IET Lucknow is preferred over the other for most students. If you want to experience the weather and scenery of Himachal Pradesh, IIIT Una is a good place.
