Placement:

Not yet reached that stage, but the expected salary would be around 120k annually.

If you are looking for research then Unimel is one of the best, but from my experience, the syllabus is good which would make you an extrovert but it feels a bit of repetition.

  • Sem is only for 4 months so I feel it is quite fast-paced, No placements

Placement:

Our university doesn’t have any placement opportunities as such as we have to go look out for a job.

I chose this university because of multiple factors: - Ranking - Teaching - Course structure I would say the overall experience is pretty good. I chose to do a Master of International Business because I feel it brings to the table a lot more with regards to the International aspect and adds a global perspective to all the subjects.

  • Dislikes:
  • While there's a lot to appreciate about the University of Melbourne, there are a few areas that could be improved. One aspect is the high cost of living and tuition, which can be a significant burden for many students. Additionally, the academic workload is sometimes overwhelming, which can affect work-life balance, especially for those also handling part-time jobs or extracurricular activities. Another issue is that some administrative processes can be slow or bureaucratic, which can be frustrating when trying to resolve issues quickly. Lastly, while the university offers many resources, navigating them can be challenging for new students, who might struggle to find the right support at the right time.

Placement:

The Master of Information Systems program at the University of Melbourne offers solid post-study placement and research opportunities. Many reputable companies, including tech giants and leading consultancies, regularly recruit from the campus, reflecting the program’s strong industry connections. While I don't have specific numbers on the placement rates or median salary, the feedback from alumni and current students suggests that graduates typically find themselves in advantageous positions. The placement process is well-organized, with the university providing ample support through career counseling sessions and job fairs, which help students secure roles aligned with their skills and career goals. Overall, the prospects seem promising for those looking to enter the professional world or pursue research after graduation.

  • Dislikes:
  • I dislike the fact that a students has to be an over achieving student to receive any honorary awards or scholarships. I personally feel it to be a tedious task as I work part time and study, so I find it difficult to excel in all aspects of university such as grades and extracurricular activities

Placement:

Placement process does not exists. Although most students get their graduate jobs through internships done before or through networking. Some even gain help from the university to improve the resume and interview skills and then go on to applying for jobs separately. Company fairs take place at least 2-3 times per semester where students can meet employees from different companies in their field of study and build connections.

Internship:

I have not yet opted for any internship.

  • Dislikes:
  • University life in Australia can get quiet isolating given the divide between domestic and international students. I found the lack of sense of belonging to the most promising challenge. Moreover, the curriculum is structured to emphasizes independence and self-reliance, which can pose a significant challenge for students coming from diverse educational backgrounds.

Placement:

The university ranks very highly on the employability metric. It hosts employability workshops, networking events in a bid to boost the prospects of students.

I would rate it as superb, it has pushed me to try and experiment. I have loved it through and through!

I do not know about companies as such. Most get placed at top firms. There is a job fair every year where companies visit the campus. As I was a graduate student, I have been successfully able to get PostDoc positions at top universities.

My overall experience was very wholesome. I visited Melbourne during CoViD period and the university helped me a lot to carry on with my research work.

  • Dislikes:
  • Too flexible you have to search your own timetable.,
  • its really hard I do not think the entry scores reflect how hard the course is,
  • You cannot find proper space to study, too many people in libraries

The average starting salary for graduates of the program is 75000AUD per year. It goes up to 141463 AUD per year for clinical evaluators. you can easily find jobs if you have completed your degree with good grades from this university.

Placement:

The course that I am doing is more relevant to people who are looking to complete or pursue CA or CPA as per the Accounting is concerned. If you want to go to Finance field, then it is good. Even as the brochure mentions, 70% of the CFM material is covered in the 2 year study material given over here. If you complete the Accounting part of it, you are given exemption of first class or something in CPA. The recruitment process is very different from India. There is no campus placement as such. You have to approach the companies to get a job. So, you can go through job portals like Indeed, Seek, etc. or networking. Companies do come telling about vacancies that they have.

Internship:

There are a lot of opportunities provided by the university and we could apply outside also.
