What students say about Deakin University
Likes
- Placements offer great firsthand exposure to the teaching life and acquaint you with the expectations and duties of an Australian teacher.
- Deakin has a website called Deakin Jobs, offering a wide range of job opportunities for application. Additionally, they organize on-campus events that provide the chance to engage with companies or individuals seeking to hire.
- There are many job opportunities inside the uni for 2nd-year students, such as being a uni mentor and being part of study groups. Additionally, with a great degree in hand, you are always open to a wide variety of jobs in your field.
- I received a 20% fee discount as a scholarship because I achieved more than a distinction in my Bachelors degree.
- The campus has clubs for most hobbies, and the library is full of resources, along with the best sports facilities and strong wifi.
- I stay off campus while Deakin also has an on-campus accommodation, but for an easy pocket, most of the students look out for off-campus accommodation.
- The fee structure allows each student to pay for their fees as they like, for instance, through HECs or upfront. This is good as it is helpful for all students.
- For my subjects so far, there is one unit chair and the others are seminar leaders and assistants.
- The best university I have ever heard of, and I also like the study pattern here. I appreciate the way everything is organized, and the tutors are understanding.
Dislike
- No, I didnt stay on campus because I lived close to the university, and it was never an option for me to go and live on campus

- I love all the things extracurricular activities, sports, teaching, practical works, and many more. There are definitely many things in this university and I will explore more as I study two more years in this university. Thanks
- Dislikes:
- I only dislike one thing that is the pressure of study in the first trimester. The assignment deadlines for the first trimester students is very less and the time given to explain these things up is also very less. Students like me from India or any country where assignments are not that much impactful, Will not focus more on them but here they matter alot.
Overview:
Yes I gave my coe that had my basic details like my interests and all the things. Because Deakin is in the top 1% universities of the world. It includes students from all the Nations not only from India and it provides a lot of opportunities in future as it will give me a global citizenship. My university is fun I love studying there enjoy the activities and I'm very very lucky to be in that university. I am damn sure that my future is secure and I'm going to achieve my goal in future. I will recommend this university to my friend as well as it is a very great university to study in.
Fees:
My total fees is more than 100k dollars but after scholarship it only remains 95k AUD.
- Likes:
- The infrastructure and friendly student support there really makes easy for us to interact with the staff and the attendance policy is also not that strict as we can take the classes online. Most of the seminars are also available virtually and lectures are always recorded live.
- Dislikes:
- The location for me its like little bit far from the melbourne CBD but nothing to worry as we can get a train or tramp as well.Even they have a express bus shuttle service from box hill station to deakin university.
Overview:
I had to submit my short 300 words SoP and one long detailed SoP, and a detailed CV as well. The main reason was the ranking of this university is quite good as compared to other university and the fee structure is also affordable compared to group of eight. Also the main highlight was the course i took was accredited from Australian computer society(ACS). Overall its good but the course is challenging because i do not have background of IT and the university experience is top notch like the facilities are quite good. The lecture theatre, library, medical centre, Gym are quite good. There are many cafes and vending machine in the premises where you can get variety of food ranging from continental to indian.

- I chose Deakin because of its faculty and student satisfaction rating along with its high ranking in Australia for business degree.
Overview:
My college experience overall has been enjoyable with amazing facilities and faculty provided by Deakin and good student accommodations.
Fees:
Approx. 90,000 AUD for 4 years for a dual degree in Bachelor of commerce/Bachelor of communication (Digital Media).
Overview:
Deakin Institute is ranked among the top 1% of all the universities across the globe. The course structure of Masters of biotechnology is practically based and in the second year university allows to work in industries as an intern or choose a thesis pathway which helps students to decide their path. The admission process in this institute is very simple you just need to qualify their admission criteria like min. 12th percentage around 60% and graduation should also be above 60%. I didn't join any coaching institute for exam preparation. I approach Collegedunia for university selection and guidance for the admission process and they helped me a lot through the whole process.
Fees:
University offers you different payment modes like debit, credit, wire transfer etc. I paid through wire transfer since taxes on this mode are minimum. I got an education loan of 20 lakhs and my parents provided 10 lakhs from their savings. Since I have been attending online classes I don't know much about academic expenses
Overview:
I think they really value student satisfaction over anything they really tried to understand or really tried to help you in terms of fresher in terms of if you need some changing you know a lot of my friends if they didn't like courses it was quite easy to drop and find a new one instead of a long procedure where you know might scare students that I am not liking the class but then there is such a long procedure and I don't wanna drop the class now. So I think in terms of that they really try to be as helpful and as flexible as they can.
Campus Life:
So, I think Deakin is quite well rounded in all of the three things you just mentioned. They have really good research facilities and labs because I have been looking and I have lot of friends in the nursing and medical community so I know that they have a lot of opportunities for them as well. Sports also a lot of my classmates and friends do play sports they have all kinds of sports sport teams, cheerleading, basketball, volley ball and a very very expensive library, three floors library, and lots of staff to help they also just opened the new law building and the whole floor gym and pool so they do provide a lot of good experiences to new students and people who are doing on campus study. So they also have lots of groups like they have a dance club, they have a book club they have lots of you know lets go to picnic club, they have lots of facilities for new students who don't they also have friends group you know to meet with people they have parties and during orientation week I think that's when they have the most number of parties. So unfortunately I only got to do one year of my undergraduate there because of COVID and the first year I just decided to you know look instead of joining groups I was just trying to find new people get my space cause I have never done psychology before so I really wanted to focus on my academics but and when I thought I do it in second year that's when I had to come back home.
Overview:
I was searching since class 11th. I searched about Australia and made a list of 10 different universities. Then, I called my counselor and she told me to go for Deakin.
Fees:
$37,400
Overview:
I chose Deakin University because it has some of the best faculty for the bachelor of psychological science course. Deakin University has structured the course in such a way it helps in the overall development of the student. and when i was gathering information regarding the Deakin University i contacted many alumni of Deakin University and they all told me that Deakin University is the best university that offers the course that i wanted to pursue and it will help me in getting a job and in research.

Exercise and Sport Science courses are the top choice for the applicants.
