- The M.S. program in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University aims to provide students with a deep understanding of the intersection between engineering and healthcare.
- The program combines coursework, research, and practical experiences to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in biomedical engineering or related fields.
- Many of the students also continue their education through PhD or MD/PhD programs. Students are provided theoretical instruction in the traditional engineering disciplines, given exposure to specialized biomedical engineering topics, and have the opportunity (through the “thesis track” degree option) to participate in supervised research projects.
- In addition to the thesis track, which typically takes two years to complete (one year of coursework plus one year of research), students have the option to complete the MSE degree in one year through coursework specializing in one of seven focus areas.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must complete a 4-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Students must complete their higher education.
- A GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale is required to be eligible for the program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed higher education with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Submission of GRE exam scores is not compulsory but helps for a better chance of admission.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
