FAQs

Ques: What's good and bad about Princeton University?

Ans: Princeton’s alumni network is legendary, with reunions that bring thousands back in iconic orange outfits. It boasts top 10 ranked programs in Math, Physics, and English, plus epic outdoor adventures like rock climbing. The food scene? Off the charts—Bent Spoon, Thomas Sweet, and PJ’s Pancake House are must-visits. But the 5:1 student-faculty ratio comes with intense academic pressure, the social scene can feel exclusive, and the small-town vibe lacks big-city buzz.

Ques: How is Princeton University different from all of the other Ivy League universities out there?

Ans: Princeton stands out among the Ivies with its intense focus on math, physics, English and engineering with no business school but a special major for finance and math lovers. It has the highest endowment per student and the lowest tuition among top schools. Unlike most top universities, it has more undergraduates than grad students, keeping class sizes small. Princeton has shaped minds like Einstein, Turing, and Bezos, and sits next to the Institute for Advanced Study, a hub for brilliant thinkers.

Ques: How was your undergraduate experience at Princeton University?

Ans: Princeton offers a well-rounded education, not just in academics but in exploring history, culture, and global issues. Small classes and close interaction with top professors make learning more personal. Since the school focuses more on undergrads, students get great research and campus opportunities. Social life depends on what you make of it, but the smaller community allows everyone to shape their own experience at the University.

Ques: Does Princeton University offer an MBA program?

Ans: No, Princeton does not have an MBA program or a business school. However, students interested in finance and business can study Operations Research and Financial Engineering or earn a Certificate in Finance. Many graduates later pursue an MBA at top schools like Harvard, Stanford, or Wharton after gaining work experience.

Overview

The primary reason was my research interests that highly resonated with my prospective advisor. I also got offers from Northwestern University, Georgia Tech, TU Delft, and Purdue, however the deal breaker for me was the synchronization with my advisor.

Campus Life

10

No matter what time of the year you are in Princeton, there are always events occurring on the Princeton University campus. The campus life is so dynamic that you can find seminars and events almost every few hours every day at some part of campus, including academic, art, or athletic. Moreover, more than 300 student organizations are created and run by students with support from the University. They run the gamut from music and dance to politics and debate, from service and social activities to cultural and educational interests. And if you can't find the exact group you are looking for, you can always consider starting your own.
