Materials Sciences at Michigan State University

With a Materials Sciences degree from Michigan State University, you will investigate the structure, properties, and processing of metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites, and then apply that knowledge to design new materials. The Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET accredits the Material Science and Engineering programs. Special emphasis is placed on the mastery of basic principles and methods. Courses and research opportunities are available in nanotechnology, biomaterials, ceramic materials, composite materials, electron microscopy, and impact damage. Each student also conducts an extensive research project that significantly advances the fundamental understanding of a chemical engineering or materials science system
