History Programs at Michigan State University

As a student of History programs at MSU, you will learn to think broadly and develop skills in critical analysis, research, and oral, written, and digital communication. Knowledge and experience gained in History coursework will enable you to excel in a wide variety of fields such as education, law, government, international development, business, journalism, medicine, social work, and much more. The courses are structured to develop student skills in research, writing, digital methods, and oral communication across the curriculum.

You will learn how to gather and critically evaluate evidence from multiple types of sources, conduct extensive archival or digital research, explain the significance of their findings in scholarly and public venues, and place historical events or phenomena in a larger context.
