The courses in curriculum are upto the mark and they keep getting better with time. For example there is an A.I course added in third year of Chemical Engineering to keep students upto date with the rapid changing world. The MidSem exams ends up in a week as they take 2 exams in single day and for End Semester exams takes 2 weeks because they take exam every day without any leaves(except Sunday).

From my point of view if Chemical Engineering doesn't fascinates you don't take it you'll regret! It's one of the toughest course and you'll hardly get time to build your personality and softskills. If you wanna go for tech placements don't dare to go for this, it will be the worst nightmare. I personally don't like this course, hardly 2-3 subjects are relevant in the industry, rest just be there in books

This college provider better comprehensive as compared to private colleges because a government provide a better opportunity to interact with other college and their application based problems and practical approach is too good as compared to theory based problems and most of the time that take practical practical labs and try to make family with industrial level equipments which help to which help in place in better companies and data industries and that's area of course curriculum is best method and its help to learning easy and the frequency of timing of exam is very short and this give the students to hectic schedule and that's why most of the students every year commit suicide in many engineering colleges and the difficulty level is too much some of the time when it 3rd year and 4th year and their curriculum extra schedule and which understand can't handle the extra curricular activities and their academic at a time.

Curriculum is designed well where in 1st year subjects like Electrical, Electronics, Economics, English, Chemistry, AutoCAD and many other are taught. Teacher Level definetely varies from person to person but overall teaching staff is actually nice. Exams are generally in a span of 1.5 months. We have exam in every 1.5 months which takes place in a span of 1 week for theory and another 1 week for lab exams. Anything which can be made better is time span of semester, it feels too quick for everyone.

In my opinion, seeing coming changes in different sectors, there are few courses which are not of much relevance and comprehensive in this college. Also the coding culture here is neither so bad nor much good.

Course curriculum is very relevant and teachers/professors are very apt in their respective field. I find it very easy to understand. There are 4 labs in each semester which makes it even more easier to understand what we study by books and internet. Support system is great.

1)At elementary level I had a good exposure to physics ,chemistry and mathematics as a subject so chemical engineering was a culimination of 3 subjects which influenced me. 2)Course although was a well prepared with almost all required subjects was not enough for ereal world applications. 3)department should conduct more industrial sessions for understanding real market requirement. 4)Examinations consist of 1 mid term, and 1 end term evaluation per semester, along with lab exams.Difficulty level was easy to moderate

A curriculum is important in an education system. It helps one plan the education process. A chemical engineering curriculum with a strong foundation in core subjects, integration of modern technologies and practical experience through project and industrial placement is highly relevant and comprehensive. Areas for improvement- soft skills, continuous curriculum updates, etc.

Course curriculum comprises all the subjects important for deep understanding of concepts of Chemical Engineering,It comprises of subjects like Thermodynamics ,Mass Transfer,Heat Transfer and Chemical Reaction Engineering.
All the mentioned NITs are among the top engineering institutes in the country. Out of all the NITs in India, the best choice is NIT Rourkela. As some of my friends studied there I might be able to give you some reasons. These are:
The fee and chemical branch placement details are as follows.
Categories | Chemical at NIT Rourkela |
Fee | INR 8.22 Lakhs |
Minimum Package | INR 3.6 LPA |
Average Package | INR 6.58 LPA |
Highest Package | INR 22 LPA |
The top recruiters include L&T, Reliance, Tata, P&G, Parle, ACC Cement, Aditya Birla, IOCL, PGCIL, NTPC, GMR Energy, GlaxoSmithKline, and more.
Overall, NIT Rourkela is an excellent choice. After CSE and EC branches, the Chemical branch recorded the highest placements. The return on investment of college is decent. But you should opt for it only if you can deal with and function under strict regulations and laws.
There are many things to consider while choosing a college such as placements, location, branch, choice, your expectations after 4 years of engineering life, etc.
If you have a liking for a particular branch then go to that college all things considered. Being a student of MNIT myself, I can say that, if you are only concerned about placements then MNIT Jaipur will prove to be a better choice.
The following data comparing the placements at both institutes will hopefully give you better clarity.
Categories |
Mechanical at PEC Chandigarh |
Chemical at MNIT Jaipur |
Course Fee |
6.39 lakh |
6.56 lakh |
Highest CTC |
15 LPA |
17 LPA |
Average CTC |
6.5 LPA |
8-9 LPA |
Recruiting Companies |
Tata, JP Morgan, Amazon, MySQL, etc. |
Hindustan Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline, Tata Chemicals, Carron Oil, etc. |
However, if you are thinking of branch change after entering the college then MNIT Jaipur does not provide that option while PEC Chandigarh offers that option. So choose one according to what matters more to you.
